Any chance to switch between virtual keyboard and shortcuts buttons?

This would really be a fantastic addition really. Especially for save, revert, undo etc..I use the mouse 99% of the time and it really gets tiresome to go in the menu every 10 seconds. Please help!

I'm not sure if i understand what you mean. Please elaborate a little bit more on this. How do you see this?

Hello! Yes I mean on the main screen, where the virtual keyboard is on the top corner.
This is of very little use for the keybaord and with the option to remove it.
Once removed, there is residual space left where shortcut buttons could be implemented.
With that space left, you could easily put in 10 custom shortcut buttons there that can be clicked with a mouse,
I think this is the case with 99% of modern based software today where there are traditional drop menus (file, view, help etc) but the most common used functions are laid in front in the form of buttons.
IMO this is the biggest improvement you could bring. Like I said, having to click on a drop menu everytime for undo, save is killing me.
I would like to see configurable buttons in the same space where the virtual keyboard is.
Thanks!

Thx for the clarification. I see what you mean now. Question: Why don't you use keyboard shortcuts?

I like the idea, but I do use that keyboard as a visual reference sometimes. When using korg's newer electribes, they don't have keys just pads, and they can set different tunings to each pattern, so gtp helpful to know what key is being pressed.
But the idea of a set of user defined buttons would be of immense help! Perhaps they could be a slim sidebar or part of the browser?

I like the idea too, and it's already on the wishlist for some time, but there are some practical issues:
1) How to draw such shortcut buttons? With an icon? That would mean that each and every context function should get a unique icon. That's practically impossible for me.
Draw such buttons with text? Then they get easily too wide and it adds too much redundant text to the screen. So maybe drawing them with just with a single character? (eg. the first character of the function)
2) Context functions are context sensitive. What if you map buttons to functions that are not relevant at a certain moment? They will bloat the screen while not being relevant at that time. So should those shortcut buttons vary all the time, depending on what's selected?
Just thinking loud.

Couldn't you use a free icon set? Or is that generally against the license of the icon set?
Maybe just number them. And it's down to user to know what they are. Speaking from personal experience, once I set stuff like that, I never change it, so it become second nature knowing which is which.
Or allow users to find their own icons. I think that way everyone gets to do what they want. Default should be numbered buttons, while right click allows to select custom icon for that button.
I wouldn't see any issue with buttons just being 'greyed out' when not useful in a certain context. I mean, how many buttons do people want? Too many just makes it cluttered, but too little makes it frustrating.
I would be more than happy if you could just create your own menu with any items you use regularly accessible from a single button. To clarify, have one extra button next to the project button that has the option to add any shortcut item to it.
- No icons.
- Easy access via mouse.
- Less screen space.
- User editable.
- Sub menu's possible.

It clearly is not a quick and simple thing to implement. So it will have to compete with the many other feature requests.
Anyway, thanks for your input on this, i've added some extra notes to the relevant wishlist item, and maybe one day the puzzle will fall together.

OK I get it.
Maybe this would be better implemented in Mux using pads. That might work too.
Otherwise for the icons, one character alphanumeric or ascii (with mouse over for full description).
All the best. Cheers
