MSoundfactory CPU problems

I have a Macbookpro M1 Max with 64 GB Ram. When I load MSoundfactory‘s Drawbar Organ in a MainStage Concert (just one patch and just the organ) and turn the drive knob the CPU usage jumps to 100% and I have audio glitches. Without touching the knob the CPU usage is around 50% which is still high. Any idea?

I am not getting what this means. What are the exact steps to reproduce?
System: Win 10 64 bit / i9 9900K (8x 3.6 GHz) / 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM / 1TB M.2 SSD + 2x 500 GB SSD / RME Babyface / Reaper

Step 1: Open an empty concert (project) in Mainstage
Step 2: Make one patch with only one channel strip (MSoundfactory)
Step 3: Load Drawbar Organ in MSoundfactory
Step 4: Play some notes and turn the distortion knob in the Drawbar Organ
Result: CPU 100%

Thanks for clarifying. Cannot test it, since I do not have MainStage. I did not even know that this is a DAW, haha ...

I've had the same problems with various Melda plugins. I thought they'd said they'd done M1 compatibility, but I have several M1 machines, including one like yours and I get crazy cpu spikes with various Melda plugins. I've kind of put them to the side for now, though I love them, because they create these spikes with high or low sample settings and almost nothing else running. I hope they get it figured out because M1 and successor chips are the future (and present for me).

Was this on an M1?tonycore wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 4:46 pm Be sure you have turned OFF Multi-core processing. I had the same issue with MDrummer, and when I turned off Multi-core, it solved it, now has very low CPU.
Your suggestiong is definitely a possible workaround, but not a solution.
A lot of DSP uses custom Intel instructions, those have to be reimplemented in M1.
