Processing the TD-3 with Angle Grinder and the Analog Rytm with 4 On The Floor, both are analog units and both make the sound of the processed instruments completely different in a good way.

(I know this is an old post, but...) I never really had the itch to buy the Strymon stuff until recently and then it really got the best of me all of a sudden, so I found some good deals on these same two pedals and my initial reaction is a resounding.....tehlord wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2016 6:57 pm I have my eye on some Strymon pedals right now (Timeline and Big Sky)
meh.
Don't get me wrong, they sound good and the build quality is great, but I think I set my expectations too high or something. They sound like delays and reverbs, with some nice flavor and a hefty price tag, but I'm already thinking I might want my cash and desk space back and just stick with my Apollo fx. Fortunately, I bought them at slightly below the going prices and in basically new condition, so it shouldn't be a problem to recoup my investment pretty quickly, if that's what I decide to do (I'm going to give them a little more time, though).

Dunno if it's the "good presentation" effect, but, whenever I heard someone use Big Sky in a Youtube vid with synth sounds, I was more like "wow".
Reverb, like synths are a really subjective matter though. My "wow" can easily be your "meh".
I think there are some really good in the box reverbs though. Eventide's stuff, Exponential Audio, NI Raum, Polyverse Comet etc.

Same! But, in real life, it's less impressive for some reason. Between the two, I actually like Timeline far more than Big Sky.chk071 wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:07 pm Dunno if it's the "good presentation" effect, but, whenever I heard someone use Big Sky in a Youtube vid with synth sounds, I was more like "wow".

That was my impression of Big Sky too when I was reverb hunting.
Right now I’m mostly set with Oto Bam and Beebo’s convolution reverb. I should keep Mercury7 in that line, but I like it for it’s plate.

Another one I purposely avoided watching or listening to demos. It’s definitely a beautiful looking bit of hardware. I’m guessing it pairs well with cooked goose too.thecontrolcentre wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 6:25 pm Enjoy Electronics Reminder has become my go-to multifx ...

That was my fear… well more like, the missus would kill me how much I like it.
