Several post have mentioned a free version... What's up with this? How does one go about getting a copy?
Thanks

It's the full version 1 (2 is coming soon). If you're on Windows and you download the large download package, a rather nice mastering plug-in comes with. (I don't think it's in the Mac version; alas.)
To get registered, just follow the instructions carefully. You can use it for a while before registering, which is good because I didn't quite figure out at first how to do it. [Then I read the instructions again and said "Duhhh..." ;-) ]
Enjoy!

Do you have to go through the Buy Traction process to register Free Traction? I mean after installing and providing the machine number? I got this message: Error Occurred While Processing Request
Error Diagnostic Information
Reading from socket failed
Maybe it was an ordinary error, I don't know...

I tried again and they ask for my credit card info... Is it a mistake? Also Kvr has removed the news post about it. I wrote to Mackie yesterday but no response yet.

What is it exactly that you're having trouble with? I've just followed the link in this thread, filled in a form and i can download the NFR.
It doesn't really get much easier?

I work as a university teacher here in the third world.
It would be fantastic to teach my students using this software, so they can have their own copy at home, completely legal
Can the university ask for several NFR licenses to install at the computer lab? Is there a special procedure for educative licenses?
thanks for this great deal!!
