No you didn’t. You complained about the fixed location of VST3 plugins, but acknowledged and accepted that programs and OS are installed to a fixed location in C:\

Now, consider that VST plugins are in fact program extensions loaded by the application at launch, and are in common to multiple programs that can be extended by them. Then you may see why VST3 plugins are installed to C:\Program Files\Common Files

I do. The majority of mine aren't on my C drive.

At some point Windows noticed and took control of my secondary Program Files folder(s) on my D drive, as well... Now I get "Administrator" warnings for both C and D locations... (but that wasn't why I have them split). I live with the few programs that are incapable of handling the fact that their users might have brains.

You solely don't use pro tools because it has a fixed location for their aax plugins?
