i couldn't demo X-EQ few months ago without gobbler.

Downloaded, installed, no "demo" iLok serial, no "do you want to create a trial" prompt.
I just yeeted the whole thing off my drive

Seems most SSL Native plugins can only be demoed via Gobbler actually.

I think I demo'd v6 so that might have had a different arrangement..or I might have just demo'd plugins that don't require Gobbler.

Bit of an odd arrangement really, I don't think you need Gobbler to install, I recently picked up Flex Verb, EQ2 and LMC+

Ohhhhhh, now THAT looks like a Waves freebie I might actually use.

Perhaps more a direct competitor for Sononym, judging from the looks of it. Appears to run standalone and not as a plugin but I can't confirm that. I'll stick with Sononym, which hopefully will get a little pep in their step with the 900lb gorilla now as competition.

Bet they'll come out with a paid version (or if this is only free for a limited time a more expensive version) that includes a plugin + extra bells and whistles (to rationalize shelling out for it... without it seeming like we're being extorted for basic functionality ... in all seriousness though standing version only doesn't seem terribly inconvenient, and it's probably better than nothing, unless it slows down my computer too much). Wonder if it's harvesting data for them.

I looked at Sononym a while back but its $99. Not sure how many know about the free Loopmasters sample search tool. It runs as a vst and does all the tag searching but also converts samples to the daw pitch and tempo.
