Trackspacer + NovaGE are really good tools.

Yes, but they all have their places IMHO. Havent yet needed to do sidechain with Soothe2 but its there thankfully.Ploki wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 8:28 pm Tbh, since i utilized soothe2 as a ducker, trackspacer has been gathering dust a little.
I like with soothe that i can adjust “sharpness” - so how precise i want the ducking to be. Trackspacer is pretty wide, it’s like carving holes with an axe vs a scalpel

I’d say smartcomp is even more efficient, when using spectral compression via the side chain. There is a thread with comparisons between smartcomp and track spacer and the conclusion was that track spacer is more precise, while track spacer has a gentler slope if remember correctlySparkySpark wrote: Mon Oct 18, 2021 9:51 pm Note that you can also get this result from Sonible's smart:EQ3 (which also deals with auto EQing). There, you can set your tracks in several categories, say lead first (meaning nothing covers the lead), then drums and bass, then pads and stuff. Really cool, and a world first, I think. https://www.sonible.com/smarteq3/
It's 129 bucks, but student rates apply (40% off).
Of course, using Trackspacer is probably quicker, as it's more of a one-trick-pony (AFAIK), but then again, to my knowledge it doesn't have a multi-track setup.

I've had a bit of time to play with Mspectraldynamics and it's fascinating. A really unusual tool, changing my views in certain regards, and making me curious to check out Gullfoss. Anyhow, for ducking it's very good, can be fine tuned. Seems ok-ish on CPU, though high latency (I think that depends on quality settings but further investigation required).
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

+1 for smart:comp
More control with sidechain ducking and also a very transparent compressor.

Are there going to be any updates to this, specially to the algoritm itself? I noticed by listening the the affected signal (with the muted sidechain input) that the decay of the "pump" can get dirty with the higher "amount" and "release" values. Is it possible to make it cleaner? Thanks.

You could try Kiloheart's Compacter as a free(!) alternative. It can generate greater, more precise levels of ducking than Trackspacer, but requires a bit more twiddling with the settings depending upon the source.Igro wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 2:51 pm Are there going to be any updates to this, specially to the algoritm itself? Broadly speaking, these kinds of tools usually generate some amount of distortion when pushed to the extreme depths or speeds, and there's generally a compromise to be made between the amount of the effect vs the amount of acceptable distortion.
