Cool beat. I wish all of the vocals were at the depth of that scream at the end though. They're mixed up front like a pop song but the beat says, "Kill everyone." Also, is your room reflective? I think I can hear the room's tone in the vocal in places and that kind of takes me out of that evil vibe; a dead recording zone will help with that. Cheers.

Hehe many thanks for sharing your opinion Hexpa! Actually I only recently stepped on your Soundcloud channel, so I know how great your mixes are! And indeed, in the original recording the room sound was less hearable, than in the final. But this song is about the creepyness of the life in post-soviet house buildings and I wanted the vocals to sound as If it was sung in the staircase of an old Plattenbau. I am also tired of hearing Melodyne and similar stuff and want the vocals to be raw.
But I'm glad to hear you like at least the beat. Actually it's the heart of this one. It's also the part, where the MPlugs show most power :D

Actually I was thinking that my mixes suffer from the exact thing I was mentioning. Thank you for helping me see that. To be clear, I like the whole thing. My only thought was a creative one about pushing the vocals back to sound mysterious. Cheers.

I looked up "plattenbau," and it was what I expected, concrete public housing. 😨 I hope you're not singing from personal experience. I've had nightmares about living in concrete high rise public housing.

I'm with Hexspa for this reason: I would expect that a vocal recorded in a concrete stairwell would sound "wetter." Maybe you can sneak into an abandoned one with a pocket recorder and get some impulses for MConvolutionMB? 😊

Absolutley personal experience. But you know what? I love it! Lived as kid in concrete high rise public housing and now again, even if we could afford something more "popular" 😃 This song pictures just the dark sides. Got more stuff inspired by plattenbau, but more psychedelic, more positive in a sense. Imagine a clear night sky full of stars and you and your crush standing on the roof of such a coloss having some unforgetable moments. Pretty neat, isn't it? 🤩

And yes, I am already total convinced, the vocals should be mixed alternativley. Need to get away from this pseudo pop sound, back to roots. Thanks for listening Starship Krupa! 🌞

Glad to hear! Actually it's a riff based on the blues scale. Since I have no more time for a band I transfer my guitar riffs in the MWorld ✨

Carole King wrote a beautiful song about a girl escaping her troubles by going up on the roof of her apartment building. Yes, I can imagine the roof being a place of refuge. Sky, stars, nobody but you and your companion(s). Sounds like a good place to consume fungus and stargaze. 😉

My imagination comes from studying the effects and evolution of public housing in 20th century USA and UK. I'm fascinated by Thamesmead, South of London on the river, which was designed to be a suburban paradise and turned into a slum. If you've ever seen Aphex Twin's video for "Come To Daddy" (which I think everyone should), it was shot at Thamesmead:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ827lkktYs

Also Kaiser Chiefs' "Kids On The Street."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-rgIPIkCl4

I guess the common theme in those videos is that Thamesmead estate spawns hell-children?

Still, even some of the people who lived in the notorious Pruitt-Igoe complex in St. Louis say to this day that some of the best times of their lives were there. So for them, at least, it worked the way it was supposed to.

Of course we often romanticize our childhoods, no matter where they occurred. The most important thing is to be around people who love you, after that things can go to hell. 😄

Looking forward to listening to your next mix....

I didn't know that Carole King wrote "Up On The Roof". By strange chance, I saw her live in San Francisco and she was amazing. Even James Taylor made a cameo.

Nice, their duets are brillant!
