If you think of the regular price of 150 plus tax for SE it's not that awesome what you get. I think I stick to deluxe and that's it then. Maybe I'm no longer the right customer for them.

You get yet another rompler.

...and modeled filters, DRIFT™ technology, much deeper editing that makes Syntronik 2 a huge leap over v1, etc but who is counting.

Erik Norlander did a great job explaining a lot of this stuff that people aren't really noticing/acknowledging during his recent livestream.

What IK needs to do is to improve the installation process, not to create another vid. If the installation process were as straightforward as that of Arturia or UVI or almost all other companies, I would have already upgraded to Syn 2.

What I don't understand, the envelopes in the editor look all linear? That can't be right or? Pretty sure each instrument had different envelopes. At least maybe offer different curves on the envelopes?

I noticed this when using the synths, envelopes do not feel very natural to me, especially the Sustain is strange.
Or am I doing it wrong :)

It's a rompler, the synths aren't "modeled" in the sense that you're thinking. It's the sampletank engine, with whatever updates, and a bunch of samples of analog synths.

Im probably not the right customer for IK anymore. Upgraded my Syntronik to Deluxe last year, and now IK is deprecating that version, in some confusing (at least to me) manner? Ponying up another $150 a little over a year later, for a Rompler I rarely use... is probably the nudge i needed to dump these. Thanks for making the choice easier IK...

Syntronik Deluxe. Anyone know if NFR?

Also a rompler can have envelopes. I can change them on the edit page. I know exactly what it is. But as said they're pretty much linear.
an envelope is Btw only a loudness modulation and has nothing to do with the sampled osc model.

It's not deprecated, read this thread again, you can use your bought stuff in the Syntronik 2 vst /app.

I'm using all of my Syntronik Deluxe v1 instruments in Syntronik 2 CS just fine. Although no access to the new edit mode with these presets. That's what the upgrade buys you, in addition to the new synth models.
Windows 10 and too many plugins

Got it. Went through and updated to Syntronik 2 / CS. Have a few combos that i had forgotten about . This 'upgrade' is confusing. :) I will stick to the Deluxe versions, and integrate a couple of long forgotten timbres into my setup. Thanks for the help.

For some reason same instruments Syntronik 2 "synths" are very blurry while in Syntronik are not. Im using windows 125 percent scaling.

Of course, I was responding to statement that you didn't understand why the envelopes are linear when the original instruments were not that way. If it doesn't have them then it's because the sampletank engine doesn't have them and IK can't justify adding them to their rompler, which is used broadly in their product line, at the moment. In other words, the features aren't really driven by the fact that "each instrument had different" anything. This is the UVI model. Combine a generic rompler with some samples and give it a mildly similar bitmap to the style of the originals and call it an instrument. I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of IK's customers don't really care that much. IK will add the features that they can leverage with greatest effect, across their product line. Some new filters that ostensibly model a small subset of the originals and very basic "new and improved" editing that was yesterday's news yesterday will fully please rompler lovers and preset selectors.

Meh, I don't even know why I'm posting TBH

You guys have fun with it.

Yes and no. I fully understand why and how they did it. But still I was asking if non-linear envelopes could be integrated, at least in the editor.
Possibly I could modulate the envelopes with other envelopes, this would make them a little rounder.

And yes, why are you arguing if you don't like the product at all :)

Well, let's be fair, I'm not really "arguing." I'm really more kibitzing about this and that. Maybe some of that DRIFT technology will find it's way into my fingers and I'll drift away from this thread.
