Have been scammed on knobcloud.
Bought komplete 12, he was very Hard to negotiate with, Showed me emails and Even reached out to the Support asking them my questions.
So I bought it, Used it for like 4 months when suddenly it was gone from my Account.
Immediately I contacted native Instruments Customer Support.
At this Point I Must say:
NI support is the Last piece of s*it.
I had to Send 4 emails in total (waited 8 FULL DAYS for a reply)
So what happened?
The previous owner contacted Support and it seems the one I bought from hacked into their account and stole the number.
In my Opinion he himself was the real owner and simply Said to Support he was hacked. Never mind.
My Focus Point Here is: i was scammed another way by NI support.
Without any Information they Tool the liscence from my Account and only After 4 emails and More than a week I got an explaination.
This is Not acceptable.
Opened a paypal case and got my Money back fortunately.
Edit: but NI support didnt do a thing to solve this. Not a single thing. I had to rely on Paypal.
I often think you can sense scams. Scammers usually Write Short sentences and want to get it over quick. Keep That in mind yall.

I had somehow a similar experience. I bought Komplete Ultimate 11 (or 12 I don't remember now) then sold it to a member here in KVR and bought Komplete 13 (upgrade version to my already exist Komplete Select). All seem good and fine!twasq wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 12:13 pm Have been scammed on knobcloud.

Before buying Komplete Ultimate 11, I suspected the low price, so I sent email to NI support asking them if the license is legit. They answered me that "it seems legit". So, I did everything and it seemed ok.
Then, after more than 3 months, the buyer of my Komplete Ultimate sent me PM and told me that something strange happened that he can't find his license anymore and NI Support told him that it was stolen and they returned it to its right owner! We ended sharing the loss and I give him my license of Komplete 13. There was no chance with PayPal unfortunately because it passed more than 180 days from the day I got it.
So, my advice is: Don't buy NI product second hand unless it is from a first owner. Because buying from a trusted member is not enough as they might pulling the license months after the transfer and during that time, that (trusted) member wanted to sell his/her license!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I completely agree. I have read several such cases on the forum in recent years. The sad thing is that Paypal doesn’t protect you here either. And is it outrageous that Native Instruments is doing nothing to investigate such cases, even though it is not really viable that the "owner" announce after several months that has lost his license.EnGee wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 8:24 pm So, my advice is: Don't buy NI product second hand unless it is from a first owner.

In Addition to That I can confide That NI support is making Big mistakes After One another.
I am not Saying That they are scammers, they are totally NOT.
But I am very certain That if you See an opportunity you will do no Good ( we are humans After all)
Another Encounter I want to Share is the reparation of my Maschine. This was a disaster (But they managed to fix it, That’s Good at least..

I think NI (and other companies) can do a check if someone wants to changes his details and/or change his email in the profile by sending email to the original email address telling them about the change in their details (some companies do that). So, if the "original" owner tells them that his account was hacked and the hacker changed the email address and details, they refuse to return the license to him/her because they already sent email telling him/her about the change!
To be honest, I actually suspect the original owners themselves are the hackers! They just can pretend their account was hacked and they provide proofs of the ownership after 180 days and they get their licenses while the "hacker" (which mostly themselves!) can enjoy the money paid because PayPal refuses to consider the case as there is already more then 180 days passed!
So, in the end it is the companies fault for allowing this by returning the licenses to their "owners". They should send them email notifying of the change in the profile/email address and then their duty is done in protecting the original owners.

You guys are not checking your sources, i can confirm several scams i myself fell victim To.
Paypal protects the buyer, good, but not when using “send to friends and family”.
Just the other day someone on a plugin buy/sell facebook page tried selling neuraldsp plugs and i could only pay with friends&family, hmm, so i used paypal’s chat and learned that the seller set their account to only accept payments ad “friends&family”,
in addition to this when i told him to change it he claimed to be in Ukraine where paypal limited receiving money as “friends & family” (donations i guess) …but again…after mentioning this to paypal they reminded me that this seller had two options, not one., so he lied using Ukraine as a confidence trick., pretty lowlife.
While i was chatting with paypal i sent an email to nueral dsp about all this, they where kind enough to reply and report that this seller had zero licenses, so what gives?
I then told the seller what i knew assuming that if he does have/own these neural dsp plugs his email address or name may of been different from the paypal name/email of his PayPal account where i was expected to send money..but i got no answer, after an hour his FB account vanished, it was a fraudulent russian seller scam or whatever person using a Russian Name..wish paypal allowed reporting fraudulent accounts so they can check but they dont.
The other scam out there is someone using paypal to outright steal your software no matter what website, What they do is buy the software license, once added to their plugin alliance account/ilok etc account the buyer will raise a paypal case and get their money back, just like that…
The reason for this is because paypal’s process requires the buyer to actually return tangible item with a tracking number, So unless its a license/s within worth the value of $250 and a 90 period paypal wont bother looking at proof of a license transaction to show that the paypal buyer recieved something for paying…such as the buyers user ID verifying them as a new owner (PA/iLock/etc) Paypal simply tells the seller to contact the developer (plugin alliance etc) and get them to revoke the lost/stolen licenses.
And the seller has to pay a fee to recover the license/s wether lost/stolen or accidentally/temporarily transferred to right/wrong name, sometimes the fee and trouble is not worth it cause it adds up or the seller is broke., why developers/ilok want fees from victims is beyond me..sad..
So its crazy, there has to be new rules protecting seller/buyers with software licenses, i gathered all this info from reading the scams between people buying/selling Windows licenses, i dont use windows but its way more popular then all audio plugs combined.
Speaking of developers some developers also have scams!
I wont name the developer but during last Christmas and new years this one developer like most had their plugs on sale, i got a few plugs until noticing the same plugs came with a bundle which was just $25 more and included all 6 of a plugin set..i wrote to them asking for a refund for the two plugs as their website policy states refund (no questions asked ) if request is made within 15 days..and i did ask within 24 hours but no one replied for a week +, then the sale extended but i still only got the automated emails saying they where busy due to sales and will get back to me.
regardless, when the sale was ending i got the bundle assuming my emails where enough to trust that they would do the right thing.….WRONG!, These jerks wrote back after the sales where over, told me some girl will handle this, she then claims she cant understand my emails, says i purchased a few plugins them upgraded to the bundle adding i saved money..wtf!, why would i pay over $250 then $300 for the same plugs + 4 more in a bundle and $15 upgrade fee?
I reminded her that i had filled in a return request form on their website, used the pop up menu return/refund, all within their required time etc, she does not agree though, she says no one was able to help me due to short staff during the holidays as in “game over’, my fault i lost $250..seriously?,
And it did not stop there!!, she then claimed there was no way anyone can fix this so i told her my bank could and said they will after reading over 15 insane emails suggesting to cause its a scam, ..suddenly she offers to credit the money for the 2 plugs…full price though!
by now i not only felt like been scammed but un welcomed as a customer! So i had it and gave them 24 hours to refund me EVERYTHING or my bank will and they did…
BTW i still used the software for 3 more weeks, fully functional and all until i booted ilok app and let it update new/old licenses., if i did not ilok would work in background using internet, so from what i learned it does not actually update old/new licenses during background use, did i just discover and share a new buyer scam? Oops

Its allot of work but only neural dsp does that and if or when they get bigger its always the same ordeal, another passive income type automated online self service company.EnGee wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:21 am They should send them email notifying of the change in the profile/email address and then their duty is done in protecting the original owners.

Then the only "safe" solution is to buy from the big companies directly when they have discount, but maybe it is safe to buy 2nd hand products developed by independent/small companies!

This is a possible scam alert. I’m trying to determine if this forum has been targeted for a scam. I put up an ad for wanted to buy Komplete and got contacted by this very new user, deewane, to contact this very suspect email address.
Let me know if you got something similar, and if you did, beware.

Sebastian, thanks for bringing that up. Same situation here. I was told to contact dewanewright8@gmail.com by the same user and I responded to him just a couple of minutes ago that I will only communicate through this forum and to list the licenses he has to offer me from the PA list I'm looking to buy.Sebastiantheseeker wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 11:36 am Let me know if you got something similar, and if you did, beware.
I'll follow up with his response.

I'm not so sure if this is the right place to discuss / ask about this, if there is somewhere else I should go for, please let me know. I recently completed a trade with a KVR user, I was using PayPal G&S and the user has transferred the license to me without issue. However, I found that the seller's KVR account is banned from KVR audio shortly after the trade is completed. I wonder why if there is anything suspicious about that user. I tried to PM the Admin but there is no reply yet.
Anything I should do?

I'm sorry to hear that, did you paid via PayPal G&S? If yes, I think you can file a case to get back your money. Did you got other contact information from PM? I think if it is paypal at least you got the email.June61944 wrote: Tue Apr 19, 2022 5:44 pm Was this erikzonnetje? The user has been banned, shortly after I paid for Fabfilter ProQ2 + 3 upgrade but receiving nothing.
My case is different. I got the license transferred. And recently I emailed him and he response quickly and said he has no idea on why his account got banned and contacted the admin but no reply. Since the license I got is an old version which no new purchase can be made for 5 years, it's not likely to be stolen credit card purchase. The only case I need to worry is if he is not the original owner of the license. But now I think it's not quite likely either.
My guess could be he slightly violated a rule in this forum... but it's just a guess I'm not sure
