Kaleidoscope is 100% Andrew's idea, but I implemented most of the DSP, Plug-In, Multi-Threading Engine and GUI Backend. I took me 3 years of very hard work to make it from idea to actual working product.

Well, this is really disappointing news.
I have all the 2CAudio stuff (except Kalaidescope) and love these reverbs.
I will admit that I've been a little fed up with having to run Precedence and then Breeze 2 as separate plugins - and have recently been straying to other reverbs until something a little easier to use (especially when moving tracks around and rearranging things) comes along. I guess that won't happen.
I don't know what happened between you and Andrew - but this is very disappointing (on many levels).

Hello Denis, your story is heartbreaking to this longtime user. I would have never figured 2CA would encounter this kind of hardship2ca wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 7:01 am Anyone who likes using the products I made and appreciates my contribution to Audio Plug-in Industry over past 22 years is welcome to write to me too to say "hello, Denis, I like what you have done and do and I'd like to see what else you could come up with..."

Hello Simon, nice to see you here. maybe you could help? could you please contact Andrew, maybe you can influence him so he would reconsider his hostile actions against me? The last thing I want now is getting into a full-scale war with Andrew but since he has been ignoring my vested interests for so long I had to act.
you can email me at mdx1358[at]fastmail.com if you want to learn more about the situation. I will provide you with details.

If you have any rights on aether i'd rebuy it from you directly, were you to re-release it. I loved that thing a lot.2ca wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:43 am I've been working on M1 support and I've done it 50%. This is what I told to users who contacted me via email. I did not lie. I've been working on it even despite the fact that I did not receive my money from sales since november 2021. I hoped Mr. Souter would reconsider his sole decision to *arrest* my personal money (and my personal IP I invested 17 years of my life into), but that did not happen. I could not stand this situation any longer as I need to make money for my living. So I had to act.
I would be glad to finish up implementing support of M1 but I cannot do that when Mr. Souter grants himself a right to arrest my property by his own whim ie without having a court decision. I do not accept that.
I had everything from 2C Audio but sold it a short while ago, because the lack of communication on M1 support made me fear it's been abandoned, and now i'm glad i did because this situations sounds really really shitty, i can absolutely understand why you decided the way that you did, and despite how much i liked the plugins, M1 and additional sales wouldn't be fair at this point since it's your work.
I'm really sorry you got f**ked over.

Denis, the west is NOT your enemy. Putin is.
ps. Full disclosure, I have done some consulting with Andrew (well, Designer Sound Limited doing business as 2cAudio, but I do not know what their arrangement was exactly other than Andrew was doing all the business-side arrangements with me; back then I've also communicated with Denis on technical matters) several years ago, but this was a long ago as I have not been able to work at all in several years now (for personal reasons). Denis has recently contacted me with what I believe is related to this situation (in a manner that was a bit strange to be honest), but since my business relations are long gone, all I have been able to do is relay said communication to Andrew... however with the recent global situation, I would urge people some caution before taking sides in these kinds of things.
pps. Also as a former system administrator, right now I would strongly urge everyone to be very careful about installing any untrusted software from any source whatsoever, because there has been public warnings raised about potential malicious payloads from seemingly familiar sources.

wow. so sorry to hear this. it sucks you have to deal with such a frustrating situation. just want to say that B2 is one of my fav plug ins. it's unique among all the reverbs that exist. i hope whatever you decide to do going forward that it works out. i think people are always interested in new interesting processors so if you decide to start your own company releasing your own plug ins that you'd likely find good support among the user base.2ca wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:43 am I've been working on M1 support and I've done it 50%. I don't know, but both the timing and attitude is ... odd.
I've met Denis and Andrew in person once (before I started contracting) and that Denis back then was a nice, relaxed guy. The Denis (from the limited email exchanges I was dragged into) as of late seems a different character, one that's much more aggressive as if intentionally trying to pick a fight as if following the Putin approach of unreasonable demands.
I do chat at times with Andrew (in non-professional terms, mostly on non-technical stuff) and I don't see this change of character with him. He's just his own stubborn self, perfectionist to a flaw (and that's a lot, coming from me), but kind in heart, trying to have a conversation.
So... something here just seems off.

And I don't know who you are but YOU are being highly discourteous and offensive. What gives you the right to sit atop a high horse and pass your political judgements? Keep Your politics out and let's keep this civil for all Across the World pleasemystran wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 5:32 pmI don't know, but both the timing and attitude is ... odd.

Denis tried to pull me into this just around the time the current world situation was building up. He was trying to gain support against Andrew from me (trying to insist that I had serious issues with Andrew, which I didn't), then accusing me of working for Andrew, even though he was (supposedly) well aware why I have not been able to commit to any work for years now (hint: look at my signature; back when their relationship was still healthy, as far as I could see).snigelx wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 7:07 pmAnd I don't know who you are but YOU are being highly discourteous and offensive. Then (if I understood correctly) was trying to license code that was written as part of my past contract with Designer Sound Limited (dba 2cAudio, although I think afterwards they restructured 2cAudio into it's own company). Denis seemed to have trouble understanding that I cannot possibly grant him a license to IP that is not my IP (because it was part of a contract work for DS/2CA).
Now, I am not the one to judge, just it happens when I've also discussed Andrew's version of this, that version is pretty much the polar opposite. From my point of view, Andrew's version seems way more consistent, I'm afraid.
I don't know who is right and I will not go into specifics, because I will not have a part in it (ie. I only know what Denis and Andrew have separately told me), but previously reasonable people (not just in this case) are behaving very oddly as of late and what I want to be part of though is a healthy plugin community (also in the future) where nobody gets hurt because they like plugins and therefore (in the current geopolitical situation; yes, it affects every one of you) I would highly suggest caution.
Now, I am not exactly in the best mood as of late (for reasons having nothing to do with plugins), so I apologize for the fact that my initial response into this thread was arguably harsh, but when Denis decides to start resolving (as far as I can tell) contractual disagreements on KVR forum, anyone that believes in a free and open society with formal mechanisms for resolving such disputes should excise caution rather than take this at a face value.

Oh, you don't wanna be a part of it, but you're spurting paranoid war drivel? Man, you're stirring up shit more than anyone here. And it's not even rational. All the sly weirdo Putin comments and such. It's f**king weird dude, and kinda insane. Stretching the situation out of context while trying to claim some kind of neutrality.
AND for the record, before his recent hiatus I had Andrew absolutely go off his NUT in a PM to me right here on KVR. It was a total brain fart, over something totally within my right. I don't consider him a very level headed person, because level headed people don't do that kind of shit.

I am not trying to insist this is related to the real war, I'm just point out that from my point of view it seems to follow a very similar playbook (just on a smaller scale).sqigls wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:27 pm Oh, you don't wanna be a part of it, but you're spurting paranoid war drivel?
