:dog: it’s right there in the manual:

Only the audio between the S (start) and E (end) markers will be saved. You can zoom in with the mouse wheel to set the markers.

Would be nice if TAL Sampler also had a sampler… :ud:

Feature request: do the math for me, please. I have a loop to slice and I don't know anything except the number of beats. Right now TAL-Drum requires me to know the BPM to be able to create a MIDI file that is the correct length. To do that myself, I need to open the file in an audio editor to get the milliseconds and then do math.

Looks like there's no main output volume? I guess that doesn't make sense with 16 outputs.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

That's what I was hoping for when I read the thread title. I have too many drum samplers already. But a TAL drum synth would've been very tempting.
This was what I clicked to buy ASAP instead it is something that would work well with a HY sequencer.

Bitwig is my DAWs and UHe and Tracktion Synths are my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

Ah, makes sense, cheers.

Master volume is top right of the GUI - haven't tested it while using separate outs though.

Yeah, it would be nice if there was loop tempo detection. Most of my loop libraries have the BPM in the name but I have many that don't. Might be worth sending a request to support as it's still in beta.

Agreed, I was trying to convince him to add this (I tried to sell it as a Tremor replacement), maybe one day he will do it.
rsp
How do we convince him to add this, because this is what I want so bad

This is ticking a lot of the boxes... Gotta say it's a very formiddable opponent to other drum samplers out there. It actually samples, even! Patrick was not lazing out, that's for sure.

I'd love to see a possibility to have up to 127 samples per pad (because this is what MIDI velocity range allows us). I also didn't see a way of automatically recognizing BPM of imported loops, which would've been super mega nice to have, and I gotta say I'm missing some of the performance effects like what Battery has (flams, ruffs, rolls, Geiger...) and humanization stuff. And no reason why stop at 32 pads only - why not 64 or even more? :)

Other than that, a really supremely solid product. Bravo, Patrick!

It's indeed a great product - and it's not even v1.0 yet.

Still - as much as i'm loving TAL - i think i'm preferring the slightly less feature rich Speedrum by Apisonc Labs if not just for the (imo) superior interface and workflow.

Speedrum is fantastic! Well worth a look if you want a drum sampler.

That said, I pretty much buy all TAL's stuff, so I'll probably buy this. Besides TAL's quality, the other thing I really like is the constant updates. Unlike our friendly neighborhood Geist II.

Yup, Geist 2 was the king of drum machines by a huge margin.
But i'm actually really happy with my new substitutes, which just don't happen to be contained within just one single plugin, but 2 (3 if you also count TAL Sampler)

Thank you! I didn't recognize that as a control.

EDIT: I have sent a request to add a number-of-beats field using the support form on the TAL Software website.

OK, that's one part done well, nice one Patrick.

Now to complete the plugin, let's add a nice sequencer, to help me replace Geist ;)

All-in-one solution with M1 compatibility FTW.

Can someone compare this to Ableton's simpler or Drum Rack? Obviously it appears to have a different sound to it. Is automating sample start and decay pretty easy? The round Robin piece is pretty damn cool. Just trying to figure out if this is something I need or more of a "nice to have".

Was thinking the same thing - would be great to have a section to turn either a pad (or even the entire kit) into a virtual vintage MPC 60 like with the resampler section of TAL-Sampler ... maybe in v1 !
Funny you mention the MPC60. TAL-DRUM does sound a bit brighter reminiscent of the old Akai samplers.

I tried the demo. It looks nice and easy to use.
