So since I already had V-80 for Syntornik Deluxe (and all of the 22 original synths), what is the difference for the V-80 for Syntronik 2? I was under the impression that all of the presets would now be able to use the 'Edit' function, but only a small selection of them will let me Edit them.
Only the v2 presets can use the edit functionality. The old presets just load as previously known from Syntronik 1.

That is correct. It's not just you.

In the Syn 2 browser, you can filter on either v1 or v2 presets. The v2 list is much shorter.

Yeah I've discovered you can't edit Syntronik 1 patches too which I thought was bit of a let down. The only thing I can put it down too is inherent changes in the way Syntronik V2 works over V1. SO the V1 patches will play fine, but aren't compatible with the way patches operate in V2.

But that's pure speculation. Either way, I'm sure there's a good reason for that limitation as disappointing as it is.

A good thing about v2 is, you can combine different OSC presets in the edit view. I'm not sure, but it's maybe possible to add also v1 OSCs there?

QUESTION:
So when I says "All of the Syntronik patches from version 1 have been updated to work in version 2", does that mean you can play them in version 2 (basic functionality) but you can't select them in the edit page to tweak like version 2 patches OR you don't have access to mod matrix in the version 1 presets?

If so, that's a bummer. I really wanted mod matrix access to the original Syntronik v1 patches.

The Syn 2 Editor only works with the v2 presets. New synth engine is required for them. The v1 engine is included in v2 so that you can play your v1 presets.

Anyone found factory multis for Syntronik 2 yet?

Ok, so with the 11 new synths installed, I'm at the point that I'm going to start replacing my Syntronik 1 Synths.

I'm doing the Syntronik 99 first and I noticed that in my downloads section there's four downloads for the synth. The filenames for two of them begin with 'SYN2' and I assume these contain the new content. The other two have the same file names and file sizes as the zips that I have backed up from my old Syntronik 1 downloads. Going forward, I can just skip the download/installation of these 'old' zips, right? If the old presets can't be edited in the new engine, then I can't see what the point would be.

I think that "99 Part 1" and "99 Part 2" are the original (Syntronik 1) library, "99" is the Syntronik 2 instrument presets and wave sets, and "99 Update" are some fixes to a few Syn2 instruments. I do not know what the IKPM will do if it finds the 2 old files in its downloads folder and the other 2 not present. It might just download the 2 new ones and then install all 4 into your Syn2 library folder.

Or, you might be able to do it form your MY Products area, just downloading / installing the new files.

As for the instrument presets:
-- "99 part 1" contains 155 "Generation 1" presets which CANNOT be edited on the Syn2 EDIT page, but can use the other features and the added FX,
-- "99" contains 42 "Generation 2" presets and 51 wave-sets, these presets CAN be edited on the Syn2 EDIT page.

Thanks for posting these counts. The IK Syntronik Instruments 99 page is a little vague, stating there are 155 instruments not 42. I manually counted up presets after installing (more than once) the 99 Instrument and found 42 (not 155) presets, assumed I was missing some... so re-installed a couple of times. :) The preset (which I guess IKM refers to as 'Instrument'? counts for the new stuff... are those posted somewhere?

I think that the web pages for the Classic (Syntronik 1) synths refer to the numbers of presets in the original Syntronik 1 release. And I did ask IK Multimedia to update those pages.

The 42 presets that you have found are the additional presets, and can be edited in the Syn2 EDIT page. The other 155 will be in a different folder - have a look around.

IK Multimedia has used the terms "instrument", "preset" and "instrument preset". I think that they are all the same.

Thanks. All good. This was posted in the other active thread (many thanks to user @Opil), and I found it useful. These are the preset counts for the older and newer version of the Syntronik instruments. Finding the "NEW" counts was what I was looking for. I wanted confirmation that I had successfully installed all the V2 new presets.

-99 = 155 V1 + 42 NEW =>197
-Bully = 100 V1 + 38 NEW =>138
-Blau = 90 V1 + 36 NEW =>126
-DCO-X = 79 V1 + 40 NEW =>119
-Galaxy = 79 V1 + the bonus contents released add 82 extra V1 presets + 39 NEW =>200
-Harpy = 94 V1 + 34 NEW =>128
-J-60 = 78 V1 + the bonus contents released add 44 extra V1 presets + 40 NEW =>162
-J-8 = 116 V1 + 41 NEW =>157
-M-Poly = 101 V1 + 36 NEW =>137 + 4 multi
-Memory-V = 147 V1 + 42 NEW =>189 + 4 multi
-Minimod = 143 V1 + 45 NEW =>188
-Noir = 125 V1 + 42 NEW =>167
-OXA = 126 V1 + 41 NEW =>167
-Polymorph = 86 V1 + 42 NEW =>128
-Pro-V = 87 V1 + the bonus contents released add 35 extra V1 presets + 40 NEW =>172
-SAM = 87 V1 + the bonus contents released add 83 extra V1 presets + 39 NEW =>199
-SH-V = 100 V1 + 37 NEW =>137 + 4 multi
-String box = 110 V1 + 39 NEW =>149
-T03 = 223 V1 + the bonus contents released add 2 :hihi: extra V1 presets + 100 NEW =>325
-V-80 = 102 V1 + 38 NEW =>140
-VCF3 = 106 V1 + 28 NEW =>134 + 4 multi
