Previewing EQ areas no longer works

In previous versions you could ALT+SHFT+Drag (on PC) around the EQ graphs to 'solo' certain areas with a band pass filter to focus in on different frequencies, changing the Q setting of the solo band by dragging up and down, it was super useful. It no longer works, I believe this is because ALT+Drag now draws a highlight marquee area, and this overrides the old behavior.

I suspect this is a side effect of the new feature request to select multiple bands at once. I find the old feature considerably more useful than the multi-select, but that's just me. Either way, it would be nice to get this working again.

Anyone else find this?

I miss that too! I use the MautoDynamicEQ as if my life depended on it! super useful! hope it get fixed soon!

You can still do this with Ctrl or Shift in MAnalyzer and with Shift in MADEQ. I didn't even know this was possible - thanks! If Melda makes any changes, maybe the keyboard modifiers can be the same in all the graphs (since they're slightly different, as I mentioned, in at least two); I know nothing's broken except my ADD :).

I’ve already reported this „bug“ to Vojtech three weeks ago. Fix will come, maybe with the next update.

Good to know, I was just going to send a ticket/email

In what plugin does this not work? Like I said, MADEQ and Analyzer both have this working but with Shift or Ctrl instead.

Post

Doesn't work for me in MDEQ on Win 10 in Reaper. Used to work with Shift. Now it just creates an immovable bandpass.

Post

I'm on Windows 11, Reaper 6.51, Melda 15.02 and shift+drag gives me a movable and slope-adjustable bandpass filter.

I think I see what's going on. If you load a device preset in MADEQ, the bandpass keyboard shortcut doesn't work. Here's an initialize preset so you can use the feature:

Code: Select all

Huh, I'm on the same setup as you Hexspa (don't you just love Win11 :x) and so I thought I'd try out your preset... opened Reaper and now the shortcut just worked before I could even try your preset. I wonder if the recent Reaper update (which did tweak some VST UI stuff) fixed it? :?

Post

Yeah, W11 needs some fixes and I let them know too. Anyway, for me the filter function didn't work after loading an Easy Device. Maybe some easy devices block it and others don't. As I mentioned in my 15.02 thread, resetting a band in MCabinetMB prevents Profile presets from changing. This makes me think that there's some kind of conflict between easy devices and edit mode beyond just one plugin.
