Sorry, you probably heard this on the radio and got the names confused.
In fact, Mackie has bought out Microsoft. The resulting company, to be called Mackriesoft, will phase out all existing product lines in favor of Tracktion and other audio apps.
The official media spokesperson for the project will be Ahnold Schwartzenegger. He's already experienced with T2.

Mackriesoft's next release after T2 will be a specialized SFX synth for simulating disorderly crowds, fights, etc. It will be called Rucktion.

ack -- there goes my MS NDA

There's one thing I particularly like about MS Office -- if you search its help for "KILL CLIPPY!" you'll be directed to instructions for doing exactly that.valley wrote:rocking! instead of 'clippy', we can have 'hoggy'.

I shudder... Anyone remember Bars & Pipes?
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/ ... pipes.html
Innovative sequencing software... taking a "pipeline" approach to the music flow, from input through tracks to output filters...
Sounds familiar? Well, Microsoft DID buy the developers Blue Ribbon... IIRC, let them produce one dodgy Windows version... and then closed them down.
Sic!

Ah, the Microsoft approach to innovation and excellence! Reminds me of "Yellow Submarine," and the Blue Meanies' approach to flowers and butterflies.

Find 'em -- STOMP 'em -- move along.
