I migrated to T from PG Music's PowerTracks Pro Audio, whose notation view is fine for fixing fat-fingered notes. I was surprised when I found that T didn't have a notation edit view, or ability to print scores like PowerTracks Pro Audio does.
The software costs $49 normally, and $29 when it goes on sale.
The main reason I left it: doesn't support ASIO, and with my soundcard, that meant unacceptable latency for soft instruments.
Lunch Money, I asked for notation view long ago, and also put it in Christianmusicmaker's poll way back a few months ago.
Count me as a vote to have it, absolutely. It should be part of the entire package to make MIDI editing better in T.

Finale has a free NotePad that you can get MIDI support for cheap. Huge download, on my list to try.

I'm another one who would like to see notation, BUT only if it's done properly.
I personally do all my notation in Sibelius so that I can export it in a format that my publisher can work from.
However I use Tracktion with students, and I think that a notation view would be an asset to them which would help another raft of upcoming musicians to relate to Tracktion and work well with it.
But only if its done well...
...oh, and for what its worth I agree that Tracktion can never be considered alongside the "big three" without this. For a program that works as a linear sequencer (i.e. not FL Studio or Live which are pattern based) then this is still essential.

Yup the midi export function of Anvil studio works great, just exported a fugue into tracktion and used 4front rhodes and bass to voice itjtxx000 wrote:anvil studio does this too, and it's free.

Finale has a PrintMusic trade-up special going now for registered users of their free NotePad program... only $59.95. They also offer a liberal 2 machine license like T and don't require a copy protection dongle or key disks.
