Hi All - bit of a noob question I'm afraid, sorry if youve already discussed it, but is anyone aware of any way of assigning paobabilities to MIDI notes in Waveform, such that they will or will not play back at the specified % probability - this seems to be possible in Ableton, but I cant find reference to it in the current version of the Waveform User Guide or on-lne generlly.
This would be a useful feature for the production of Generative-style music.
Hoping you can help...

I don't know of any generative features in W11, but W12's step clips will have note probability as an option. Step clips are aimed at drums, but I've used them for melodic sequencing in the past.
Linux version?

Excellent, thanks spoontechnique.
Have been trying to use the "NoteMapper" plugin from CodeFN42 for this purpose, but it crashes the sandbox if you try to use it on more than one midi track at once in W11.
Sounds like W12 and using StepClips for melody lines is the way to go.

You should definitely check out VCV Rack. I bet there's a way to export or record MIDI with VCV Rack somehow.

I honestly haven't seen many interesting VST generative tools, maybe due to lack of interest. By comparison, both hardware and software modular are chock full of them. The Flashbulb has an interesting video series that might get some gears turning:

... or similar to vcv rack there is the free open source multi platform Cardinal https://github.com/DISTRHO/Cardinal/releases

You can use scripting/livecoding plugins, https://www.osar.fr/protoplug/ with Lua for example.
