$99 is actually the same price as an upgrade from Cubase Pro 11 to Cubase Pro 12, but then the full version of Cubase Pro 12 is $579 rather than $149, and it bundles dramatically more content and functionality (the cost of entry may be high, but feature for price, Cubase has long been at the top of the pack).

LOL, 99$ for the "Upgrade"
Glad that i switched to Studio One instead a few days ago.
As much as I like all the little features, I've always been stumped by the program's strange operation (and I've been working with Sequencers since Notator SL on Atari). Add to that the many strange behaviors with various plug-ins.

I'll wait I guess.
Doesn't sit right with me being charged twice for the same thing.
Though I must acknoledge a small increment for this update is not entirely disproportional, considering the leap year between 11 and 11.5 and the added features.
A 99$ per year ticket, on the other hand...

There are often further discounts on US holidays, so Easter, Presidents Day, July 4...

Anyone unhappy about the upgrade price should email Tracktion and let them know how you feel.

I'm presuming there will be a half-off early-upgrade option emailed to us, which is how it's generally been done. I've been expecting it all weekend.
This is the weirdest rollout. FigBug noted that all the parts were put into motion on Thursday, but we've seen nothing substantive outside of YouTube videos.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Is anyone looking at the issue with the upgrade acting like we are not logged in when we actually are, and not allowing us to purchase?
I am logged in, the site shows a "log out" option at the top and if I go to my orders I can find the one with which I upgraded to Waveform Pro 11 (as a pre-order back when that was offered) from Waveform 10; my few Tracktion Cash points are picked up, but underneath the "Waveform Pro 12 Upgrade" in the cart I see "NOTICE: This upgrade license requires a previous version. Either login to your account, or remove this item to proceed with checkout."

doesn't change the fact that the starting price is too high. so a discount from an inflated price is not really a discount. they should put back the option to do a basic upgrade of the program without any bundles. While I miss the original Tracktion that came with pretty much nothing more than the DAW I do understand that they have been steadily moving away from that as the version numbers go up. It makes sense for anyone starting out to have enough synths and effects to be able to produce music without having to look elsewhere, but I have been building up my own collection since 2003 or so.
Oh well. Not a deal-breaker for me. They gave us 11.5 for free last year instead of calling it version 12. And prices go up. Like a lot of the TSC folks, I also live in the Pacific Northwest and even in my own arse-end of it, you have to pay for four houses to get one.
One thing that I will stand firm on, though, is I absolutely will not upgrade until the website lets me. NO UPGRADE UNTIL I CAN!

Surely there must be consensus by now...

The MIDI Event List is very welcome. My first sequencer (MIDI only, before recording of audio became viable) was called Prism. I be;ieve I bought it in 1990 and there was a review of it in Sound On Sound magazine that year. It had a very useful MIDI event list! I'm hoping to try it on a more modern PC, but can't find the floppy disk it came on, and haven't yet worked out how to get the .exe off the hard drive, which is an MFM drive, and the original PC ain't booting at present.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

They don't fix the bugs in version 11.5 and want us to pay for more bugs. And on top of that they want me to pay again for Daw Essentials. One has a limit.
