I can't imagine it'll be too large. TBH Wavestate doesn't even have as many oscillators as a Wavestation (16 as opposed to 32), though it's capable of lots more synthesis, and Wavestation VSTi doesn't seem to be too heavy on CPU. It definitely has a shitload more samples onboard - shouldn't affect CPU though.pixel85 wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 7:59 am Hmm... It makes my future purchase of Wavestate (just for a studio use) less reasonable.
Damn you Korg!![]()
I'm curious what CPU/RAM usage will be in bigger performance patches and more importantly how's stability of VST version. Can plugin be controlled by hardware?

Was Thinking of getting the OPSiX Since i am already Covered with Subtractive so this was a Instantbuy from me
I think this is a Smart Move During these Chip Shortage Times.
Btw. I Noticed that the Vst3 Was Installed in my Vst2 Folder so be aware of that if it doesn't show up in your Daw.
The Solution is to Move the Vst3 File to your Vst3 Folder and you are good to go.
The GUI seems like it has Massive X colours and design. Is it resizable? I wish there is a demo!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

This is a really surprising move! Really cool though. I've been quite interested in the OP6 but couldn't justify the hardware purchase.
I wonder if the plugins work as full blown editors and preset librarians for the hardware. Would be kinda silly if not.
The only other 1:1 hardware/software duplication I can think of atm is Line6 Helix.
Personally I think it's a great angle to have on product development, software for studio use, fully compatible with the hardware primarily aimed at live performers.
Will be interesting to see people's opinions on this a few months down the road.

You can download demos for both from the latest version of Software Pass (1.1.9) which you can download here...EnGee wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 10:02 am

Just downloading the demos now. Wavestate is around 1.8Gb and Opsix 180Mb.

Wrong, it has 64 stereo voices of polyphony. Wavestation was 32 voices mono. Wavestate also does quite a bit more synthesis-wise, so it definitely does have a chance of being more CPU expensive than the old Wavestation plugin. Altho, you could bump the old Wavestation plugin to 256 voices of polyphony, and that can definitely eat some CPU.kritikon wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 9:48 amTBH Wavestate doesn't even have as many oscillators as a Wavestation (16 as opposed to 32)

The GUIs are just lovely. I don't buy C/R protected plugins, but I will probably make an exception in the case of Opsix. If CPU usage is right, I will probably pull the trigger. This is really cool and didn't expect anything like this at all.

You need the latest version of Software Pass (1.1.9) to see the demos. They do exist.

I don't see any demos either. When I load the Korg software pass it says version 1.1.9 but when I open that it says version 1.1.3 and no new demos.

Hmmm. I'm on 1.1.9 but they are still not showing up. I'll wait a bit.EvilDragon wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 10:46 am You need the latest version of Software Pass (1.1.9) to see the demos. They do exist.

I agree, the GUIs look great, they seem to be very clearly presented and tastefully done. I get the impression with this release that Korg is taking their software rather seriously. Which is great to see. They've been running circles around the other traditional big name hardware brands in terms of innovation/creativity lately, and I hope this is the beginning of a new era of Korg software.
Hopefully they'll do everything possible to not repeat the authorization headaches of their Collection series, and show Roland Cloud how to do things properly
The obvious question is will ModWave be next?
