Opsix looks awesome. A lot of FM power without abundance of ditractors. Clean interface too, looks much better than hardware.

Too bad I already bought F'em and... didn't use it at all yet

Wow, this is a surprise!

I have not tried either of the hardware, but I just got done demoing both of these new Korg synths for about 20 minutes each.

Before I mention the sound, I will mention the visual and I found it curious that the Opsix could only be resized to max 130%, while the Wavestate could be resized to max 150%. As far as looks go, I think they both look fine, though I wouldn't mind seeing an even larger size in the future. Korg, give me 200% please, my monitor can handle it. It wont break.

As far as the sound goes, the Wavestate was much more up my alley and I will be buying that one. I had fun just playing it for 20 minutes going through various sounds. I can pass on the Opsix for the time being. Maybe it'll be in a future Korg Collection upgrade. But I liked the Wavestate enough that I'll be grabbing that one right away.

Tried opsix, at first I was like not another fm emulation with an endless variations of EP's all over, but then I've started to program it, and I can see a lots of potential. Great UI, easy to program and dial in various sounds, some unexplored territory there for sure. And since I was in hunt for an FM synth... Might be a winner in the end. Where's that Sumu to compare it to?

This is so wrong. When you have a dedicated folder to store your music software plugins and their data folders they think they put these into documents without asking!
You know what? Create a Symbolic Link (in windows language: a shortcut) to this folder then you can place the files into your dedicated folder!

Anotrher question: these two new instruments will be part of Korg collection or not? (for example arturia / pigments is not part of their v collection). If they'll be, then I will wait for my upgrade coupons. Anywaay I will wait 'til black friday : )

I kinda feel like if you bought the hardware, there has to be some buyers remorse now. Thats the tough part with buying digital synths nowadays, you never know if a plugin is around the corner now that Korg did this. I think its awesome. FM8 is my jam for lots of DnB bass sounds, but Opsix looks interesting. I have to see how well I can pull off heavy bass sounds with it. Wavestate sounds really nice, but the UI takes some time getting used to. I am not familiar with this type of synth, but it does sound pretty nice.

It would be ideal to have an Minilogue XD plugin. That one I would buy.

I have the Wavestate hardware, and the plugin for 49.99$ is just no brainer for me atleast.
So no buyers remorse here and on the plus side the hardware can be a controller for the plugin.
I have wanted a good waveseq plugin for years.
Wusikstation had it time, same with Xpraze.

Only thing I can complain about it would have been nice to get discount for Opisix also
