There's always benefits in owning the hardware. I salute Korg for being a forward thinking company for doing this! Owning both hardware and software is an amazing combo!vertibration wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:29 pm I kinda feel like if you bought the hardware, there has to be some buyers remorse now. Thats the tough part with buying digital synths nowadays, you never know if a plugin is around the corner now that Korg did this. I think its awesome. FM8 is my jam for lots of DnB bass sounds, but Opsix looks interesting. I have to see how well I can pull off heavy bass sounds with it. Wavestate sounds really nice, but the UI takes some time getting used to. I am not familiar with this type of synth, but it does sound pretty nice.
It would be ideal to have an Minilogue XD plugin. That one I would buy.

Shortcuts are not symbolic links! Windows also has symbolic links (or junctions), and they should be used for this sort of stuff instead of shortcuts.

I never had the patience to do any deep sound design in iWavestation, due to the interface being so awkward and fiddly on iPad. Maybe it’s better on desktop, but wavestate UI is certainly a breath of fresh air. Maybe not as polished as Pigments, but it seems to have picked up on some of the same design cues. Definitely something I could see myself devoting substantial time to learn.Chrisk-K wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 4:28 pm Never ever expected Korg to release these soft synths! Just tried the Wavestate Native. I love it. It's much easier to program than the Wavestation plug-in and the GUI to me looks similar to that of Pigments. Well, I bought a $1,500 Fender Precision Bass 2 weeks ago, so I need to find a way to raise a fund...

In my case, I found even after going to Add/Remove Prgs in Windows 10, uninstalling Korg Software Pass and then reinstalling, it didn't show the demos for those two.
But then I uninstalled once more, then manually went to the folder where it was located, deleted it there (as uninstalling didn't really remove everything) then I installed it once more... and THEN it worked.

edit, i just uninstalled and installed the newer software pass version and the demos show up now, i dunno if a overwrite of the old version would have been enough.

No remorse whatsoever. I prefer hw for playing/programing almost always. With some synths sw is easier and Wavestation was definitely one of them. Wavestate is far better to program than Wavestation but still not the best, so I'll likely buy the plugin for when I want to make up my own in-depth patches from scratch, but will definitely be using the hw version most of the time. Both will sit happily together like I have both Wavestations.vertibration wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:29 pm I kinda feel like if you bought the hardware, there has to be some buyers remorse now. Opsix I suspect I'll pass on, as the hw is pretty easy to program already and I don't feel the need to program the plugin. Yeah the price is seriously different, but I actively prefer the keys and knobs - I think if I'd jumped forward in time to now from when I bought the synths - I'd still buy the Opsix hw in preference to sw. And I'd probably still buy both Wavestates (there would be a chance I'd make do with the plugin alone, but unlikely)

In my case, it was enough. I just downloaded version 1.1.9, installed it over the one already installed, launched Korg Software Pass, and had the demos there.Caine123 wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:19 pmthx gonna try!Examigan wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:18 pmIn my case, I found even after going to Add/Remove Prgs in Windows 10, uninstalling Korg Software Pass and then reinstalling, it didn't show the demos for those two.

Thanks CC! Exactly what I'm looking for.carrieres wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 12:15 pmWavestate native/Sample Builder :Teksonik wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 9:51 pmYou can point it to a User Sample folder but it wants a " *.korgcompiledbank" so I'll have to figure out how to convert .wav files into that format so I suppose a dive into the manual will be inevitable.

Now if I could just convert old .wusiksnd files that would open up access to about 30 gigs more sample content. I'll try to contact the developer of Moss Converter and see what he says.....

I wonder if it would be a good idea to have separate threads for the Wavestate and Opsix?
I'm sure there are some who are interested in one but not the other. That would allow people to only read discussions on the one they are interested in without having to wade through discussions about the one they are not.
Anyway it's just a thought....

I'm really enjoying the Wavestate plugin so far. It's much easier to edit compared to the hardware (which I sold before the editor was available).
I'm coming across plenty of bugs though, but this is only version 1.0.1 - hopefully they will be addressed soon.

Hit n Miss.. but programming the wavestate is fairly easy, once you wrap your head around how it works, I recommend watching the tutorial video's on the hw synth.

That would be really cool. There was some great content for WStation from years ago that would be nice to use again in Wavestate.Teksonik wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:45 pmThanks CC!
