Bug: W12 piano roll/step clip lag

This is when running Waveform in native mode on an M1 Mac, there's a huge lag when editing notes on the piano roll, roughly half a second to redraw/register changes.

Hi - out of interest can you try switching between OpenGL and Software rendering in Settings -> Advanced -> GUI Rendering Mode? I am running on Linux and find OpenGL to be laggy in the piano roll but software rendering to be OK. Can you try both settings in case one works better than the other? Thanks.

There aren't any rendering options in Waveform on an M1 Mac.unholyeyebrows wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 7:41 am Hi - out of interest can you try switching between OpenGL and Software rendering in Settings -> Advanced -> GUI Rendering Mode? I have a different issue with OpenGL rendering.
When in full screen mode, popup windows (plugin editors, etc) and even some contextual menus are obscured by the main window. They appear to not open until you bring them forward by clicking at a spot where it's located.
The issue is absent with software rendering.

I can confirm I have the same issue running Waveform 11 in native mode. This is on Big Sur, I don't know if Monterey would be the same.

I guess no one else is running Waveform on an M1, including the devs? Is this behaviour unique to my machine?

I'm running on MacBook Pro M1 and can't reproduce. Is it a particularly large project?

It's quite large, around 120 tracks, mostly VST instruments. I just checked, the behaviour is the same in both native and rosetta mode, in both Waveform 11 and 12.FigBug wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 9:12 pm I'm running on MacBook Pro M1 and can't reproduce. Is it a particularly large project?
I opened a simple project with about 15 tracks and the lag is gone, so one would assume it's related to the project size. However, a few months back I was working on a much larger project, with something like 200 tracks, and I didn't experience any problem.

I just loaded the larger edit with around 200 tracks. The lag is worse, approx 1 second when dragging note lengths. Entering a new note is instant, however. I'm guessing this is something to do with RAM management?
This is an edit I was working on last summer and I don't recall having this issue. Perhaps I was using an earlier version of Waveform 11.
