I'm running it on a decent desktop (3700X + GTX1070) at 4K resolution. Performance is generally good but sometimes it really struggles. Like when drawing automation over a long zoomed out region. The UI can't seem to keep up as it's drawing all the automation points.

In the end I can wait for any feature, but Bitwigs slightly sluggish interaction compared to Live, FL, etc is just something that's just always there, slightly annoying me enough to not want to use it.

If they did that, I'll keep paying forever just to see what they come up with, but right now (at least on my computer) it's just not fun to use Bitwig.
Are you on PC or Mac?

I don't see anything I'd call slowdown in the GUI on my PC.

I'm on both, but not super new machines. It has been discussed before, some people just don't see it (maybe slow mouse operators ;) ).

One thing I would wish for is automatic Midi Delay ala Renoise and Logic for people who use Hardware together with software, but don't route their synths back into Bitwig, but a mixer. that would make me endure the slow gui :D

That way I could work like I do now, or each channel would consist of just one Grid, or I'd simply have one channel with a Grid in it and do everything right there. But not having this is not much of an obstacle, to be honest.
Bitwig excels as a modular / sound design playground, so to speak. There is really no better tool out there for this kind of stuff.

If I could load Bitwig's bottom device chain inside any other DAW, something like Bitwig Rack, I'd be happy. Like some sort of Reaktor or VCV Rack with midi effects, plugin host, etc.

People that are happy with the current state of the Bitwig DAW (everything outside the device chain) could keep using that. But others would still be able to use the best aspect (IMO) of Bitwig in other DAWs that are objectively superior in many other areas.

And it would open up Bitwig to a huge market of users. The devs could keep improving the Bitwig DAW while having an extra revenue stream. Bitwig Rack could really become a Trojan horse and bring users into the Bitwig DAW a couple of years later.

I know this is most likely not going to happen. I'm also sure the hardcore Bitwig fans are probably getting their pitchforks at hearing of this heresy. But one can dream :)
Totally agree with this, I try to get on with the "DAW" aspects of BW and just cannot however much I try. The device chain part though is golden, I would love a "Bitwick Rack" plugin then I can just use that in another DAW.
Guitar Rig 6 has a similar one

^^^ modulators can't modulate modulators etc. but that's an MSEG :ud:

not as deep as Reaktor devices but has a much friendlier workflow, similar to Reason Rack just it has Bitwig like modulation framework instead of the cable-based routing

MIDI notes can trigger macros which can trigger envelopes, etc. not as is in Byome/Triads etc. so works nicely in Cubase too, has L/R, M/S and freq splitter container device

Since the first renew reminder mail comes in I remember, Bitwig is installed here. I used it only for one project since my last renew in june last year and this doesn't fit the renew price closed to the half of a new license. If Bitwig will provide MTC/MMC slave, I'll think about to renew. So "my" Bitwig future is, to pause.
