Since the arrival of the option to reduce the lower part of the screen to nothingness (the buttons, properties panel, and transport buttons), the properties panel is still accessible for a highlighted object via the spanner on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen.
I'm a fan of right-clicks (Apple users, cover your ears). I wonder if all highlightable objects could have a right-click option that includes a Properties option that would display the properties panel in mid-air over or near the object (or near the click). Some objects do produce a menu in response to a right-click, so perhaps the Properties option could be added at the top.
On the other hand, would it be better if the properties panel didn't cover the object itself? I wonder. And is the spanner really such a long way to go from the highlighted object? Perhaps, with a large screen or multi-screen set-up. And if it is, the addition of a Properties option at the wrong end of a right-click menu might be just as far to move one's mouse.
Anyway, I throw the thought into the ether for opinions.

Kind of interesting that you would suggest putting "Properties" at the top of the menu.
On Windows, the "Properties" item is almost always at the very bottom of the context menu.
It is actually on the Mac that the roughly equivalent "Get Info" item tends to be found somewhat closer to the top of the list.

You can setup a hotkey to open actions in a menu wherever the mouse is. I could look into adding a hot key for the popup properties panel too.

I have a feature to suggest.
When Waveform 12 is in full screen mode (non window view) there is no "X" in the top right corner to click and exit out
of the program. (At least not that I see.)
I have to click down to window view to have access to the exit "X"
It would be nice to have in full screen mode.

Hehe. Or just browse through the Keyboard Shortcuts setup. I bet you'll find many others useful, or you can add/change some new. The array of keyboard commands in Waveform is HUGE!ronmer wrote: Wed Mar 30, 2022 1:28 am That works great.
Thanks for the tip.
Guess I should have RTFM.
And of course, reading manual never hurts.
