It's not that, it's just that they're completely staffed by morons that have no idea what they're doing these days, it's reflected in attention to detail in reviews as well as the complete inability to update the freebies.

Their glory days are long gone (by about 2-3 years)

Post

Maybe. :P

In any case, I sent them a mail. Hope that they do something about it. Or at least send me the new version of BazilleCM. No idea why they'd start with that "This issue only" thing with plugins which are in their every month plugin suite.

That is correct. Both Zebra CM and Bazille CM are the old versions in the big plugin suite ZIP file. So when I was comparing the installer from my saved plugin suite with the one you were attempting to install, it WAS the same file, just not the one that I had originally installed.

The new plugin versions are currently only offered as singles in select CM back issues from earlier this year. Just started a subscription this year so I had grabbed those updated singles as they were released and then forgot they were separate form the main ZIP.

CM should probably be a bit more transparent with this business practice! They make it sound as if the suite is all up to date with the latest! Buyer beware!

Again, apologies for the confusion. My memory is not as sharp as it once was, LOL!

No worries. :) I'm glad that you tried to help. It's just confusing when they do stuff like that. I also thought that ZebraCM is always the latest version from the moment they released it in that back issue.

I can see how this is an issue for them on their content servers, but, the way it is, it's really not great. Everyone will expect the latest versions in the plugin suite.

Yep, they need to fix that. They just need to swap the new installers into the big plugin suite. That would solve everything, and it really wouldn't increase the footprint on their content servers.

Just need someone at CM that has the skills! :D

I was able to find links to a recent version of linux ZebraCM with the new gui, in the u-he-linux area.

The installer provides both vst3 and vst2 versions. CM should be providing something at least this new for each supported platform.

Also, CM _did_ manage to include the ZebraCM bonus presets folder
(Elecktronic Garden) in the magazine content. I suppose going to work with one shoe on will at least get you to the coffee machine... :dog:

The gui's are a wii bit different, but it's the cables that sell the sounds :hyper:

The OP is no longer with KVR? Dang. First post should be updated with details.

Zebra CM - Latest Version: August 10, 2021 - 1.1.1 (revision 12185) Available in issue: CM304 February 2022
BazilleCM - whatever and whereever that is...
etc...

Otherwise...folks will continue to download the packaged stuff (and the right versions are not in them, currently)

Post

I just got Bazille CM v1.0.1 from Andy at Future Music. So, if you bought a recent CM issue, and wondered why the latest version of Bazille CM is not on there, contact Computer/Future Music, and you'll get a link.

Same should hold true for all the other stuff in the CM suite software... ZebraCM is also not the latest version, unless you bought the issue where it was initially on.

the new GUI looks really nice tbh. i don't really need the new version (new GUI + some extras) but i am really tempted to be honest. Great synth :)

Here's an edit of the default skin for the new ZebraCM. If anyone is interested in using it I'll upload the files. I'm still looking for the entry in the config .txt file for where it says "ready" on the browser page. Can't seem to find it.....

I made sure to grab myself the issue and had similar mentioned trouble where the Instrument and Effect Suite was not up to date — it's from around 2020! The was a seperate filesilo link that started with "FREE PLUGIN! All New" — those archives contained the up to date version of Bazille and Zebra CM for me.

Post

Yeah, it's like with those "This issue only" offers. Which is a bit misleading, as these are part of the CM plugin suite, not just one time offers.

They are in the suite, but not the latest versions, if you didn't happen to buy the issue where they initially had the latest versions on.

Again, I get why they do it. Instead of multiple different versions of the big CM suite downloads packs, they can have only one pack with the old versions of the plugins for all CM issues, so they don't have to host all those big packs.
