What type of synthesis?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

Post

Love Arturia and AS is simply brilliant :)
Can’t wait for more releases under this “umbrella”…

Post

Just had a play with the standalone version - not tried the VSTi yet. Awful random jumps in volume from "normal" to "full overload distorted". Very strange. Painful enough through my headphones - not putting this through my speakers. Maybe this freebie will get an update or 2 but it seems a bit buggy at the moment. W10, AMD Ryzen, 32gbs RAM, Focusrite Scarlett ASIO.

Edited to add - I also do like Arturia stuff and have most of their gear, so not bashing them.

WE are beta testing for them ;)

Analogue, wavetable, harmonic (additive), and granular. Mixed with 2 multi-sample engines of real orchestral samples with round robins and velocity layers. The best "rompler" you can get!

boxofsparklers wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 7:18 pm How is it not a rompler? A rompler can by definition have synthesis capabilities. This plugin plays samples and you have limited modulation options. It's a rompler with a preset synth attached to it. It's quite a lot like Sampletank actually, come to think of it.
It also has virtual analog, wavetable, harmonic, and granular synthesis...a bit more than sampletank! More like Omnisphere....
So it's a rompler, like Omnisphere, that's what we're saying.

Running really smoothly here on a laughably old 2014 I5 4690k 3.4 GHZ (4 cores, 4 threads ) CPU with 8Gb windows 10 in Bitwig and sounds great. Pairs particularly well with Scaler 2 for instant gratification.

If you are having CPU problems check your system specs as the minimum requirements are quite high and you NEED a 4 core (not 4 thread) CPU which rules out a lot of older intel laptops as they were only dual core. My I5 6200u laptop for instance will barely play a single note.

My quad core i7 can't cope with it either ...

No problems on my i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz with 16 Gb RAM. Reaper and Windows 10. I have ckecked most presets and didn't notice any crackle. CPU use is around 20-50% depending on the number of voices played but the sound is perfectly smooth.

I really like the way this sounds. Will be curious to see what the full version is all about
2020 iMac 27" 10 Core, OS 15.3, MOTU M2, iConnectMidi4+, Novation SL MKIII, Push 2, Ableton Live, VCV Rack Pro 2, Bitwig Studio

I guess the full version will have a user interface for all those parameters which are exposed to the host. There are a lot of them, you can assign them in the Midi tab to controllers… I don‘t know if we can load our own samples, but lets hope…
This might become a new playground for sound designers…

Turns out AS wasn't recognising my yamaha/steinberg soundcard ... but it does now and is working as expected. Thank you Arturia :)

If you go to settings and lower the polyphony on some presets it helps and enable the MPE I noticed helps a little bit. Still CPU heavy but a little work around for the time being. Hope they fix the issue if they do I would diffently purchase a full version.

My Maschine software shows 16 pages of max 8 parameters.
When you go to the midi tab and click add controls, you see an even more impressive list.
CPU usage is OK on my M1 MBP.
which is copying output...the whole industry has been copying output for the last few years, because they understand the dominant demographic and are giving them what they want

I just love it, even with the limited access to its parameters. What I didn‘t find out though, is how to assign timbre and pressure to the visual controls.
To combine it with an Expresiveé Touché is plain fun… But you need something like Bitwigs modulation system, because the internal Midi assignment is always controlling full ranges… Lets see what the full version will give us on top.
I could live with sample import via sfz, but it should be there somehow…
