So that means no Eventide, New Fangled, Soundtoys, Oeksound, Gullfoss, SSL, Lexicon, Sonnox, UVI, and many more. Personally, I find ilok convenient as long as I don’t have to have a dongle and they give more than 1 activation at a time. PSP give you 3 activations at a time. That’s 1 more than most. So PSP using ilok doesn’t bother me at all given how they approach it. The only ilok licenses of mine that bother me are Lexicon and Sonnox for needing that damn dongle.
I've been fine with iLok for years and I have a lot of licenses on it. But recently I downloaded trials of "new" PSP plugins (comp and saturator), and after activating license on ilok, I can't use them because I'm getting error that ilok is not available, while other plugins/licenses are working properly. I have the same issue with demo from other developer and had with Composer Cloud in a middle of a session (I wasted half day to get it back to work).
This convinced me to stop buying plugins that requires ilok. I don't like when buggy license manager can costs me money and wasted time.

Ps. I could exist without companies you mentioned. There's so much of high quality plugins available that it's really easy to go without companies attached to ilok.

PSP is great and Vintage Warmer is a true classic. If I had to list top 5 most influental and classic plugins, it would be there. Their gui's are not the most modern looking or shiny, even the new ones, but who cares if the sound quality is good.

They are also fixing and updating their stuff which is great. I just received a beta release for testing because I told them about a problem I had with Impressor.

Your lucky day :)

Get the Hertzrider. They also have a nice EMT Reverb.

Such a beautiful-sounding reverb. I’ve never used the real 140, but it sounds amazing.

I really hope PSP revisits their Lexicon reverbs and updates the ‘42 and the ‘85 with new, scalable GUIs.
Thanks & God Bless,

Love the PSP stuff. I started using them a few years ago when I went to a mastering seminar in NYC and a grammy award winning engineer was showing his plugin chain for a current project and had FETpressor on the master bus followed by two instances of Xenon. The only plugs he used other than PSP were FabFilter. I was really surprised to see FETpressor used like that but damn it sounded great.
The new Impressor is an awesome comp as well. I also like InfiniStrip for quickly switching between different console, eq and compressor types with zero latency.

Its another one of those tools that 'if it aint broke, dont fix it'. Im still waiting on Nexcellence's new update since it doesn't validate anymore, but Fetpressor, 2445, Springbox, Old Timer, Twin-L get lots of use here. A lot of them have been getting updates since last year, but they've got A LOT of plugins so give em time.

It won't even install on Big Sur at the moment (neither will several of the older ones I have) but at least I have the Voltage Modular Nitro version

Bought InfiniStrip 30 minutes ago on sale, so clearly still stoked :)

Plugin Alliance has a PA_EXT pop-up store selling 2445 EMT for $29.99 with an additional $10 off voucher making it just $19.99 until the end of the day today (PDT).

I will probably pick it up.

I don't see the big deal about PSP using iLok, since computer-based authorization is an option.

Just got the EMT reverb. I'm pretty stoked on it.
