Hello everyone !
I just discovered this challenge yesterday !
MG-1 is really a synth I'm glad to use since it was released !
I'm very excited to participate !
Here is my contribution, I wanted to keep it simple and to sound like the era it was born into... just a bit like this "Pop corn" song !
(Logic pro X)
10 instances of MG-1
EQ, compression, slight stereoize and limiting, noise gate for declicking, nothing more !
https://soundcloud.com/mat-lo-255856449 ... al_sharing
Enjoy !

Welcome to this month's Fat and Funky (Surrealistic MG-1 Plus) OSC!
Hope all you guys, and others who maybe haven't registered yet but might enter,

Hi everyone! Here's my submission
The original Radioshack MG-1 happens to be the first synthesizer I ever owned, and it's what I first learned synthesis with. I sold it a couple of years ago, which I now somewhat regret. However, the plugin is amazing and it exceeds the original in many ways!
I found the limitations imposed by the rules to be quite challenging to work through. It's hard working in ways you're not used to. I found it to be a very enjoyable experience.
Total instances: 14
Breakdown:
One instance used for the lead, pad, arp, and filter sweep respectively.
One instance for each percussion sound: Kick, snare, "cymbal", and 2 for the "hat" (so I could ping-pong them)
4 used in tandem to create sort of a 4-voice mega MG-1. I used the plugin "Xhip Notelogic" to route the midi polyphonically.
Daw: Reaper
Mixing/character FX used:
CHOW Tape -Tape simulator x8
TDR Nova - EQ x14
Valhalla Supermassive - Reverb x2
Saturation Knob - Subtle Saturation x2
Ozone Imager x2
Some stock Reaper plugins:
Reacomp x7
js saturation x1
Ping Pong Pan x1
Bit Reduction x1
Realimit x1
ReaEq x1
Midi Arpeggiator x1
Thanks and best of luck to everyone!

It seems that the voting process this month will be more laborious than usual.Yadrichik_Chaya wrote: Sun Apr 17, 2022 2:34 am I see that the newsletter Cherry Audio sent out yesterday is making people register here at KVR for the very first time and already entering with great tracks!![]()

The keepers of the great book of the OSC rulez shall speak their verdict - Is Bit Reduction heresy?

"Distortion: Please use distortion / tape saturation / bit crushing sparingly. Use your best judgement. Try to keep the original sound recognizable. Note that this does not apply if the distortion is built in to the synth."
