I bought it too end of 2021 (dec, 10th)... when did you buy??

Post

End of 2021 too.

And what did you do??

Did you wrote a mail to the support asking if you could get it for free??

Post

Is the new Epic version M1 native? I can't find the info on their site.

I asked for refund for the paid upgrade and they did it. Seems the current VIP code should be working on the new version.

Ok, thx for the infos so far... while I am still confused :)

Maybe thats it, I am on windows 10. Maybe as it was originally develloped for mac first and then the windows version the bugs might be win specific. Written to support but no answer so far.

Just got my refund as well as being elegible for a free update... thx Ryan99 for pointing me to this!

I tend to be very sceptical about such plug-ins. Cubase also has a chord assistant, but I'm quicker without it :D
David Guetta seems to love the plugin, he probably uses it often to find harmonies and chord progressions. I also heard about the plugin for the first time when Guetta mentioned it, I didn't know it before.
If I've seen it correctly, the plugin is not available individually, but you basically buy a whole bundle (which is not very expensive). There is no demo either, but a 30 day money back guarantee?

Is Captain Chords by Mixed In Key worth it if I need chord progression generator or do you recommend any better alternatives?
Scaler 2.5 its 1000x better at least, take your time to check good Scaler videos and you will understand that Scaler its totally from another league.

I bought the Captain Plugins Epic...
The first versions were very buggy! But within 2 days there were already 2 updates (I had also reported a bug). Currently it works without any problems.
To be honest: Deep, Melody, Beat, Play.. I personally like the idea, but I didn't like the results.
Chords is very good, you can try different keys and scales, also inversions or build your own chords. Many of the well known chord progressions are included as presets. What is missing is a direct key detection of audio. For that you need the "Mixed in Keys" additionally. David Guetta "the godfather of EDM" swears by both plugins and not without reason.

Chords I find at least very useful and certainly helpful if you are not so well versed in music theory.
I can't say anything about Scaler 2, but I will install it out of interest (I think they have a demo version).

Here is the Captain Chords search in the thread "Your fave MIDI fx, arp, mapper, mangler, generator, chorder, controller, utility. VST or MFX":

Instead of the final version in December 2021.
tatanka wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 10:31 am Wonder about your experience. For me its buggy as hell and really not useable at all cause the state of the chord plugin is not saved with project (a lot of other bugs but thats the one really no go), so you have to start again evrytime. Mixcraft is not officially supported but I had all the version before and never any problem :-(
Yes, it was buggy in April, in my case with Studio One.
It has been updated 3-4 times since then.
Studio One 6, Waveform Pro 11, Acid Pro 10, NI, Pigments 4

Don't know about native, but it was updated to work with the M1 chipset, and it does work on that. It also works with the latest version of Live as well.
It's worth it if you can get it at sale price.

I find Scaler too complex for my simpler needs and rarely use it vs these plugins. And I’ve watched all the videos as I’ve had it since early v1 days.

Therefore, it’s actually about 1/2x as good as these plugins for me, at best, not 1000x better.
