I am extremely happy to present the first in-house soundbank for Viper! Viper Hardstyle Essentials contains 128 presets for different genres like Hardstyle, Hardcore, Hard Trance, Rawstyle and more! There are no fillers here, only the finest basses, huge leads, euphoric pads, screeches, screams, amazing effects and distorted kicks which you can alter to create your next anthem!

Viper comes amazingly close.
The one thing that definitely sounds different is the transient's character. Viper's transient is lacking the mids and body of the Virus transients. This gives the impression of sounding more hifi, colder and less warm.

Yes, if you look at it through a microscope there are millions of differences, I even know of a few that people havent even mentioned yet, but in a full song or mix, no one will care, you anyway put compressors, extra EQ and other stuff on it which will alter the transients and phase of the signalBarbarossa wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 11:32 am Viper comes amazingly close.

There is dsp56300 emulation of motorola chip or something ,which can 'read' rom sounds from different devices including Viper, which is dope as opportunity to work with two different Virus recreations.
Personally i prefer Viper,it's easy to make any kind of sounds, emu seems limited for design.
Probably will make free soundset for Viper, based on modifications of my favorite presets.
After vocal battle between me and Adam here i doubt to be interested of selling my soundsets in the future 3000 years hihihihi
Cheers

Adam,
I don't think it's microscopic hair splitting. I think the transient sound has a big impact on the perceived character of the whole sound and its perceived quality.

Sorry for boring question, but since Cubase announced plans to stop support for VST2, and as far as I know flowstone does support VST3, is there any kind of time frame for a VST3 version?

True. Just set the amp env attack to 7-9 and you should get the same round sounding attack of the Virus. (Maybe you have to increase "punch intensity" a little more to compensate)Barbarossa wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 12:37 pm Adam,

I understand but without any comparisons, these are just texts on a forum, I am not really sure what you mean. To me the transients are the same, maybe you need to dial in something correctly.Barbarossa wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 12:37 pm Adam,

Yes, when the Flowstone vst3 exports its stable enough there will of course be a Viper vst3 version.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 12:49 pm Sorry for boring question, but since Cubase announced plans to stop support for VST2, and as far as I know flowstone does support VST3, is there any kind of time frame for a VST3 version?

I have Problem getting Viper to work after i Upgraded my System.
Cubase 12 gives me this Warning and i have installed all the Visual C++ Redist from V 2010 to 2022 so that should not be the problem.
