More dirt please. Much more dirt.

There's a reason why Massive and the Virus are popular for certain things, and that is the big nasty distortion stuff in there. Sylenth too to a lesser extent.

I know you CAN do it now......... :hihi:

No idea yet... the general layout/workflow won't change though :)
Will you add in (or... do you have already), eight simple macros controls (ala massive) where I can go, e.g.,
macro1 = cutoff and macro1 = 50% * res
macro2 = osc1 modulation depth
macro3 = osc1 speed
macro4 = delay send and macro4 = 30% chorus send
macro5 = 30% distortion

etc....

So I can set up a patch to do EXACTLY what I want, and control it from a few controls in EXACTLY the way that I want to?
You mean something like the current XY controls in Zebra?
And would it also be possible (just asking) that if you run Cubase, that they are mapped directly to the Quick Controls (QC) internally? Like the Cubase synths. I know that this is a host specific wish, but I figured asking is harmless. :)

Hi Urs,

Any plans to give Z3 multiple outputs to your DAW? Would Be great for side-chaining as well as a gazillion other uses!

We do think about proper inputs on instruments though and multiple outputs shouldn't be much of a problem with Zebra.

We will however not support more than stereo processing for each module... that'd be overkill :oops:

Good thinking, Urs.

he said recently that the free zebralette 3 with zebra 3's oscillators looks highly likely to come out this year and the full version will follow after

With Covid and the potential of WW3 That thread title is somehow far more scary than I suspect it was supposed to be.

No you're more likely to die before Zebra 3 comes out........ :hihi:

We always need something to look forward to. :hihi:
And now i think that despite my age, it still seems quite realistic that i will still be experiencing Z3.

My personal goal though is to still be alive when The Drop finally is getting Apple Silicon native, which basically makes me immortal! :party:

I used to look forward to it, but no more. When I bought Zebra HZ, the offer that Zebra 3 would be a free update for users made me think that it was in development and probably a year or two off. Clearly that wasn’t the case. U-He’s been very busy with development, but I suspect almost none of it was going into Zebra 3, though things developed for Bazille or Hive might end up in Zebra 3. Buying HZ was probably a factor in how long it’s been put off. When you already have someone’s upgrade money, there’s not much incentive to actively develop the upgrade.

Will I make it to see the day Zebra 3 is released? Probably, but I no longer care as much. Zebra 2/HZ is fine.

Indeed Z2 is fine, though some workflow refinements and some new / extended feature here and there will be worth the €30 for me, as i'm no Dark Zebra owner.

There's many, many posts detailing the history of Zebra3 and why all the decisions u-he has been made. Staff coming and going, operating systems upgrades, needing to release other products which then require their own maintenance. Everything since 2011 though has been made with Zebra3 in mind. The filters behind Bazille, Hive and Repro-5. The voice streaming in Repro. Hive's mod-matrix and wavetable playback. The new preset browser. etc, etc, etc...

When Zebra3 comes out, it's essentially have bits and pieces of practically everything that's been released over the past ten years.

To make things easier, here are links to a few of them:

I don't work for the company. I'm just trying to clarify that there was never any robberies. In short, the answer to why Zebra3 has taken so long is "life happens".

The good news it that, as said earlier in the thread, Urs is working on Z3 as we speak. As in, that's what they are actively working right now. I don't want to speak for them, but it's not abandonware and we could all be playing with the first version of Z3 in a year's time. We shall see
