So there are some lower deals possible even with this Forver29 option.

The FAQ on their page, and Dirk mentioned this also explicitly in the PA Positive Audiophiles group:dangayle wrote: Wed Apr 27, 2022 7:52 pmI appreciate that, but I personally wouldn't do that. If they're handing out free vouchers and making things stupidly on sale, I have no issues taking advantage of those deals. I have no desire to circumvent anyone's system or abuse technicalities for the sake of a few dollars though.dermage wrote: Wed Apr 27, 2022 4:44 pmIt's the same price as the Forever29 thing and you can't use your voucher on it.dangayle wrote: Wed Apr 27, 2022 4:15 pm The day after I use my PA voucher is when they finally put the HG-2MS plugin on sale. Dang.
Just do it the Forever29 way, buy the plugin, cancel it.
https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... er_29.htmlFAQs - Questions and Answers
- Do you offer an annual plan for FOREVER 29?
No. FOREVER 29 is a monthly plan exclusively.
- Can I unsubscribe and re-subscribe?
Yes, anytime!
- If I don't use a voucher in one month, can I store it and use it later?
Yes, of course.
- This deal is insane. Can I have two or more plans at the same time to grow my PA collection faster?
Absolutely! Start two FOREVER 29 plans and get 2 codes every month.
- Can I donate or sell my $1 voucher to a friend, or on the internet?
You do whatever you want with the $1 code, it's yours! Yes, you can sell it.

I think the 2nd market is still viable for lower cost plugs if they continue the $25 vouchers (looks likely). I mean, if you have some unwanted freebies (tuners, bx guitar pedals...) then you could sell, say, Triad for $15, bundle a tuner with it then new owner pays $7 with a voucher in transfers. Saving of $9, not massive amount but could be the cost of a no-brainer at PB or somewhere... Helps with the GASPrototype_human wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:47 am I think getting a plugin each month for $30 is a good deal ( even the new one ) but i think they killed the second hand market.

Did someone say waves?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:42 am I consider this move by Plugin Alliance as ingenious. They have realized, due to their own and competitor habits, that no one wants to pay more than $30 for any plugin.
Yeah, they're being pretty smart now. It only hurts for those of us who bought before at a higher price

It sounds like you're assuming that subscribing to the Forever29 plan gets you access to all their plugins, like their MEGA Bundle plan. It doesn't. It only gives you the monthly "any plugin for $1" coupon. (Well, it also gives you a couple pieces of vaporware - their auto-mastering app that only works on MacOS, and their sample player which hasn't been released yet - plus some "amazing samples!" from NI and PA.)LoveEnigma18 wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:42 am I consider this move by Plugin Alliance as ingenious. Being subbed or not is kinda same, because if you cancel and then you want a new plugin, you will sub again. It's up to you how you want to use the plan - for using all plugins OR only to buy a plugin you want. If you remain subbed you also get to use all their plugins and get to own one plugin every month for $1. A definite win-win!

I do *not* want to defend PA. But Waves has only 1 activation, Waves has this crappy WUP where you pay for staying compatible instead of new features. And Waves "Shell" or whatever they call it is just another crap.
With PA plugins I have not had any problems in recent years (at least on Windows) and they don't force me to buy upgrade plans across all plugins one time a year....

Thanks for your reply and thanks also to songshark, it seems that I have to upgrade now to save a few bucks...

Oh yeah, that's a good point. PA is much more better than the other companies in these areas.dermage wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:14 amI do *not* want to defend PA. Damn, I indeed assumed it, wrongly. So, sub and cancel is the way then if you just want to get plugins as and when needed from this plan.Ceej wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 9:46 amIt sounds like you're assuming that subscribing to the Forever29 plan gets you access to all their plugins, like their MEGA Bundle plan. As someone who has worked on the web for various e-commerce companies, marketing companies, and publishing companies, I can tell you right off why the subscription model for PA is being pushed so hard: Because we the producers are now the product Dirk is selling. It's like Facebook and every other "growth" company, gotta maximize the amount of people signed up.
Why don't they care if we sub and cancel repeatedly? Because they're marketing themselves as having X number of subscribers to their new corporate overlords, and you just count the amount of sign ups. Investors LOVE subscribers because it turns your single transaction user into a reoccurring payment stream, theoretically increasing the average lifetime value of the customer.
That's why NI, iZotope, PA, etc., are all pushing subs despite the fact that it seems like a huge majority of users don't actually want it.

I'm holding out till Black Friday, hoping Presonus offer 50% off upgrades for its loyal customers in these difficult times. The market is bound to slump. I have 3 Pro and 5 Artist. I've upgraded in the past from the initial release.subharmonic wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 4:40 pmI can't ****ing believe I missed this!
