Although that doesn't allow it show more though.
I actually like it - if I got the narrow height back I might get rid of it, but if not I'll keep it.

It's a nit pick, but I wish it would remember your column preferences. I always want Library in there.

The way it plays back one shots is great in terms of dynamics. Very responsive. But they don't get routed to the kit processing, which is lame. Also the drag and drop is pretty wonky - you have to drag it around the screen until your kit piece is highlighted, as opposed to just dragging it directly over the kit piece itself. I was testing it with the Action EZX.

Anyone notice delayed hits on the percussion pieces? It's like the samples weren't properly edited and there's various amounts of lead time preceding the actual hit. Not a big deal, if it is a content issue, I'm sure it will get fixed in due time. Just wasn't sure if it was me.

I'm trying this within Reaper which I hardly use but I can't use it in Reason yet (Vst3)....the drag and drop doesn't seem to work in Reaper, maybe I've missed a trick?

If it's the shakers and tambourines that is because they use 'future hit technology'. There is a certain amount of pre-hit before the transient which, when played back with the included EZD3 percussion MIDI, creates more natural sounding patterns.

Thanks for that! I do a lot of finger drummer and they're obviously not useful for that. Never messed around with any of their percussion before so wasn't aware of this "future hit technology". Wish they came up with some "future stock market" technology to go along with that.

Anyone else having problems with drag and drop in their DAW ? I assumed the bandmate function was going to work inside a DAW but it crashes a lot for me.

I couldn't get anything to drag in from Reaper at all.

It inherited good features from EZD2, but also made lots of unique changes to the SD workflow that are excellent. On top there is this massive core library. How do they top that next time? I don't see they can. Everyone will want all the new midi features of EZD3, but do we need a new 500gb core library? At this point all I really want is an updated engine (and some obvious fixes like the Tap2Find thing).
For SD4 to really go to that next level - it needs to make a quantum leap - in the Ai space - something like say - Jamstix - where "drummer brain" functionality can create realistic tracks on the fly without being "told" what to do with a bunch of midi files.

Dragging/dropping/stacking and then playing back a series of MIDI files (edited or not) in your DAW was next level back in 2008 but if SD4 is really going to change the game - I don't really see anything left it cannot do except start drumming for me by somehow making the same kinds of groove/timing/fill/pocket decisions that a real drummer would in a typical performance.

Disappointing to see all the issues with drag and drop for the bandmate feature. That was the main reason I bought the upgrade even though I can't yet use EzDrummer3 in Reason until they add VST3 support. Was planning to use another DAW to program drums, export and then import to Reason. Clunky workaround but whatever works, right?

I'm hoping to mess around with it later today.

Same here. I've been using the export function from Reason to use with EZdrummer3 in standalone to try it all out. Dragging audio or MDI works fine in standalone.

I guess then I could export the MIDI from EZD3 then use it in EZD2 in Reason.
I fired up Ableton Lite (seems to be very cheaply available) to also experiment but I don't know my way around it at all.

Don't forget that you can just open a .wav or .mid file directly from the Bandmate tab via File Explorer/Finder if your DAW's drag and drop doesn't work. Just locate the resources for your DAW project and open from there.

I do think Bandmate really needs the ability to trim the start and end of the files though. I may have a few bars of silence beforehand and I'd like to be able to trim that out directly in the EZDrummer interface.

Dragging audio/MIDI into EZD3 from the media explorer in Reaper works fine. Cannot drag clips from a Reaper track...

Dragging MIDI out of EZD3 into a Reaper track works fine.

You gave me an idea: the Project Bay. You can drag and drop audio clips in your Reaper project directly from the Project Bay to EZDrummer3. This is faster than going through Media Explorer since it's just the audio+MIDI in your project.

And to correct something I said earlier that isn't true: you can slip edit the audio clips in EZDrummer to eliminate the count-ins.
