Hmm, then I am afraid Im out of ideas. If you installed all the c++ redistrutables then it should see it. I have people who have it working fine in Cubase 12 so something must be on your computer. I am not familiar with Cubase, but maybe you have to remove it from the blacklist first and do a scan again, or I dont know how it works. Maybe there are two separate folders for 32 bit and 64 bit plugins and you put it in the 32 bit folder? I hope someone has some tips on what to do!D-Fusion wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 5:47 pm I have tried everything in that list and Cubase 12 still sees it as 32bit No matter what folder i put it in.

Before the Change i used Windows 10 64bit with Cubase 11 Elements which i now have upgraded to Cubase 12 Artist and everything works except for the Viper.

I finally sold my Virus TI2 because of this VST from Adam. Was able to put that money on an Arturia Polybrute instead. Thanks Adam!!
I've been importing banks, and while there are some differences, Im able to tweak the sounds to get what I want thanks to Viper. Amazing work Adam!

Just installed Studio one V5 and the same thing there Except that in Studio one it doesn't show up at all and it seems to be ignored.D-Fusion wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 7:06 pmThe only difference now is that i use Windows 11 64bit and i got a new motherboard, Cpu and Graphic Card.adamtrance wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 6:50 pmHmm, then I am afraid Im out of ideas. I understand but without any comparisons, these are just texts on a forum, I am not really sure what you mean. To me the transients are the same, maybe you need to dial in something correctly.
I agree. In case you have Eventide's SplitEQ you could try the following EQ setting on the transient (standard settings 50%, 30%, 10ms) emulating the warmth of the Virus I miss:
505 Hz, +1.7 dB, Q 1.0

Oh you’ve tested it? So waiting on flowstone to iron out some issues then?adamtrance wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 1:33 pmYes, when the Flowstone vst3 exports its stable enough there will of course be a Viper vst3 version.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 12:49 pm Sorry for boring question, but since Cubase announced plans to stop support for VST2, and as far as I know flowstone does support VST3, is there any kind of time frame for a VST3 version?

Then Im 99% sure windows is missing some libraries needed to run the plugin. Are you sure you installed this? https://www.techpowerup.com/download/vi ... ll-in-one/D-Fusion wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 8:23 pm Just installed Studio one V5 and the same thing there Except that in Studio one it doesn't show up at all and it seems to be ignored.
Just install the whole thing as an admin, as yoabre said, you might need extra admin privileges in Windows 11, I am not sure because I only have Windows 10.
Unfortunately thats not how it works. Transient means how fast a sound "begins", and is not measured by its spectrum. If you EQ a transient you will EQ the entire signal. You cannot separately EQ a transient. Or are you talking about the "Snap" control which adds a little click to the oscillators? I am confused.Barbarossa wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 8:38 pm Adam,

Seems strange this problem.
Hope you find a solution D-Fusion![]()
I must admit that this is a strange case since it did Work before my changes to my System.
I have All Visual C++ Distributions installed from V2005 to 2022 and i have tried to move it to all the different vst 64bit folders and restarted the Daw.

Maybe Windows 11 thinks Viper is a virus and blocks anything that tries to access it? Maybe there is windows defender or some other anti virus program running that you need to whitelist it, I dont know.

Up until now i had installed all the Visual C++ that i downloaded from Microsoft one by one.
Then i went to the Tech Powerup Site and downloaded the All C++ Redist file and created a folder for it and started the Included Install all option and restarted my PC and now it sees the Viper Properly.
Not Sure what has happened but it might be that when i installed them one by one some of them might have gotten uninstalled or it ended up screwing up the C++ Libraries somehow.
So if you end up having this problem i suggest that you go here and Follow the steps i wrote.

So you haven't even tried the SplitEQ settings I gave to you?adamtrance wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 7:26 amUnfortunately thats not how it works. The snap control sounds completely different, it does not create the warmer, more analogue like transient sound of the Virus.

I dont have Split EQ ad I dont have iLok, but anyway, its irrelevant because I wont be able to change it since it would change the tone of Viper which in turn will alter all the presets ever made for it, and that would cause more problems. There is a solution that you just wrote, if anyone is not happy with the transient, they can add that EQ to it and problem solved. Viper was never meant to be a 100.00% exact same as the Virus, no one ever said that, its just people assuming. Vipers aim is to emulate the Virus and have a similar sound and workflow and I think it achieves that. People even hear difference between a Virus A, B, C, Ti, so I think its fair for Viper to have minute differences as well.Barbarossa wrote: Fri May 06, 2022 8:11 am So you haven't even tried the SplitEQ settings I gave to you?
The snap control sounds completely different, it does not create the warmer, more analogue like transient sound of the Virus.
The Virus is made on a motorola chip with many engineers working on it, they wrote their own code, and Viper is made on an entirely different platform with an entirely different code. Obviously they didnt give me their source code so I had to figure out everything from scratch. Instead of nitpicking about differences we should celebrate how close they are, taking into account they are made with such a completely different approaches.

Don't get wrong: it is amazing, what you have achieved. The sound samples in that video are mindblowingly close. Despite extreme settings in filter and amp envelopes. I know, what it takes, to be able to achieve that. That you have developed such a warm sounding filter, is enough for praise alone.
Therefore my criticism of the lacking "feeling" is meant as a hommage to an incredible work of technological art.
I posted the SplitEQ solution, because I thought you would be curious and maybe want to investigate how to make Viper sound even better. If not, I'm fine, because SplitEQ is the solution for me, to achieve the Virus feeling.
Since you don't know SplitEQ: there's no reason to be afraid, that the tone changes.
I even checked it with your video with the sound comparison. It doesn't change the tone at all. It's much more subtle, because it only affects the transient. It just begins to feel like a Virus. Warm. And analogue.
For example: the difference in the subbass region between Viper (less) and Virus (more), is way bigger, than the audible difference this SplitEQ setting creates in the tone. The setting impacts the feeling, not the tone.
