Let's see the price that Arturia offers me. I already have SQ-80, so I expect not more than $99. I already like the old P5/PS emulation, so I expect them to sound even better now
I liked the Piano V, so it is a welcomed addition
Yup, that’s confirmed by the screenshot from the Japanese site. A different name and an Advanced button.starflakeprj wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 6:44 pmSince they named the free version "Intro", I believe so. If they don't meen "Introduction to the Augmented series".SeeingInMidi wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 6:41 pm Is the augmented strings any different from the free version they had released?

While I'm not sure that I would upgrade for that, it would at least be interesting.EnGee wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 9:01 pm I was almost sure that the V9 would have Kawai K5000 (or similar)!! Anyway, just in time I think when I've just was thinking that I absolutely don't need any new synth (except K5 or K5000 emulation)!
The Modular and Mini used to be "Moog Modular V" and "Minimoog V" with the Moog brand.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 8:58 pmGood point. In fact, is this the first officially branded product from Arturia?PAK wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 8:23 pm What's interesting is the MS-20 V has the Korg logo in those screenshots. If it's still there at release it means Korg licensed the rights to them, despite having their own MS-20 product![]()
It would be nice to have something like that:ghettosynth wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 9:21 pmWhile I'm not sure that I would upgrade for that, it would at least be interesting.EnGee wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 9:01 pm I was almost sure that the V9 would have Kawai K5000 (or similar)!! I bet the the others that were updated took a lot of their time, plus (according to the news gathered here so far) there is the Augmented Strings and Voices.Niowiad wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 9:45 pmThe Modular and Mini used to be "Moog Modular V" and "Minimoog V" with the Moog brand.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 8:58 pmGood point. The "Wurli" used to be "Wurlitzer V" with the official logo.
The SEM V used to have the Oberheim logo.
But most of their stuff still uses the official product/brand name and logos under some kind of licensing, agreement or concession... ARP2600, Farfisa, VOX Continental, Synclavier, Solina, Matrix-12, OB-Xa, Prophet VS, Buchla Easel, CMI, Synthi, Mellotron, Clavinet...
Otherwise they have "workaround" names, like they do for their stuff from Moog, Roland, Wurlitzer and Rhodes.
Anyway... is that the entire VC9 lineup?
The new synths are the MS-20 and the SQ-80 (october 2021 release).
I would expect at least one more, if not a couple more....
I'm willing to bet this is because they want to sweeten the deal because they don't really have much new and they chose to invest their energy in that stuff.Zipede wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 8:38 pm Surprised to see the Augmented Series in V9. Would have liked another new synth that I don't already have, but I expect the CS-80 and Prophet VS remakes will feel like new instruments anyway.
Yeah, that one is a bit of a head-scratcher, but Korg as a company have always been more relaxed about their business and open to new markets and ideas. I mean they even put out a virtual MS20 on the Nintendo DS!dumbledog wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 4:58 am I'm really scratching my head at why Korg is endorsing Artiuria's take on a product which directly competes with their own VST but eh, bring on the PWM.
I guess Korg’s own VST has been there long enough to no longer make any significant profit now. Better to license the trademark out for another round of profit.dumbledog wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 4:58 am e: And yeah, I'm really scratching my head at why Korg is endorsing Artiuria's take on a product which directly competes with their own VST but eh, bring on the PWM.
