most likely, just saying that when I select SVF, I kinda expected it to be a pure SVF as the name suggests, not some form of SVF extension.

I hear you... for me I think as is makes more sense.. we can agree to disagree.

Off to reproduce your filter demo...but it has been reported.

LoveEnigma18 wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 2:19 pm Unfortunately, there is still no preset browsing possible in the new browser using keyboard arrow keys. The need to double click to load the preset makes it even worse. :(

I hope they implement presets browsing with arrow keys AND either load the preset on single click/selection OR make use of enter key to load the selected sample.
Cannot imagine why they would have implemented preset selection and loading in Massive X 1.4 this way ... unless they borrowed the code from Komplete Kontrol.
And even in KK, there is no "enter" to load preset.
That's what I was trying to say when I stated that they borrowed the code from KK.

Same issue with the preset navigation. No improvement.

AFAIK the new browser in MX doesn't borrow code from KK, it's a wholly new project.

Then why the heck wouldn't they have taken the opportunity to improve on browsing with Massive X, beyond the KK style of preset navigation? Single click loading and next/previous arrows seem like rather obvious options these days, IMO.

Yeah, I gotta agree.

As I've said in a few other places... if this browser in updated Massive X is somehow a start for browsers in other NI products (KK?), I am a bit optimistic.

Exactly. The new browser looks dumb in this regard and for what is arguably the most important thing about any browser. I really hope this comes soon in an update. I have mentioned my suggestions in the NI community.

Oh! Wow. This is it? Am I being an idiot, or can we still not display user sound banks properly? I just get the same list of presets, but no "sound banks" like Native Instruments own banks. I can't see where to tag sounds, either. This seems no different to me! Please tell me I am wrong.

Are you saying the browser improvements are not applicable to user presets? So user presets are still one folder and that is it?
Yep - if you want to tag user presets you can still do that in Komplete Kontrol but, absurdly, not in Massive X, and there is no way to organise collections of patches into banks.

It is like there are two kind of developers at NI! One group that are innovative and love what they are doing and another group have zero love to their job and just there for the exact required task (no feedback or opinion at all), taking their money and Chau! Just what I feel though!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Speaking of NI browsers, how is the Komplete Kontrol plugin window still so tiny by default that you can see about three presets in the list when you have the tags open? How is any Product Manager looking at that thinking "Yeah this is good".

Yep... browser in KK is terrible in usability... and the specific issue you mention is one of the biggest reasons.

New Massive X browser at least improves on this specific flaw... and it looks like much of the new browser is still a "blank slate" that will evolve. And if this is also a template for new KK browser... fingers crossed.

I raised this the day after the release of KK 1.0.0. A user hack - just change 2 numbers in an ini file IIRC - has been available for years to simply make the interface bigger, but NI won't even made that an official option. That's a deliberate choice, it's just can't imagine why they made it. I also asked about ordering results by product, that option isn't available either. Such basic things.

Hehe when you look at it, in recent years, NI has been really kaput. They just do genre-based sample/preset packs for Maschine. NI has plenty of employees, but they're giving the impression that over 90% of them are HR and marketing teams.
GR6 with 'new modules' = dead
New browser in MX = electrocuted temporarily-alive Frankenstein
New Kontakt GUI = dead
New instruments (no, not samples put into wavetable engine of Kontakt) = dead
Reaktor = dead
KK = dead

Indeed, there's something messy with this new LP4 filter (although it sounds fine). WTF?

They can't even provide a tasty sample of their stuff in recent promos. Even PA beats them in that matter.

NI is boring AF. They will have a great time, especially now when other companies feed new customers with the "new gamechanger EQ plugin" every 3 days (because this is the new lifespan of a plugin for customers who need a new plugin every 36h [exaggeration of course].
