Bitwig 4.3 is out - Space & Tone (RELEASED)

The new Delay+ gives some lovely results with very short delay times and using the blur modes and high feedback with a bit of ducking. I'm impressed with Delay+ sound character and possibilities.

Yeah. All the "+" versions of effects have sounded really fantastic, imo. The chorus is the nicest, smoothest sounding chorus I've used, beating out many popular third party options. They've really stepped up their FX DSP game, that's for sure.

Yeah, the + versions are impressive. Delay+ is up there with 3rd party delays.

Speaking of the Chorus+, been using it in a Grid a fair bit as it can be per voice there! (Same with Phaser+ and Flanger+) Sounds especially nice with a bit of random per voice modulation on the Chorus parameters. 1 Osc -> Chorus+ -> Filter -> Env -> Audio Out and it sounds lovely. Now I can send that into the Convolution Reverb

They stopped offering .deb packages and moved to flatpak (and no: It seems to be impossible to offer at least for a temporary phase the old and the new package types together to make sure everything is working... their users are not worth more to them than such a "surprise".... very funny!!!). But they didn't realize, that no Beta-Version is offered by flathub.org and... that is the usual way to ...

You misunderstood me: flatpak uses flathub.org, which only hosts the releases of Bitwig Studio. Thanks of course for the reply.

My criticism is: Bitwig didn't care about such possible results. And instead of offering the download of a *.flatpak file (which BTW cannot be simply installed like a *.deb file) it would help more to make - for a transition time - both files available to give a user a chance to make the "new" file format work or - if it doesn't - tell this to make it accessible. But now... I have to wait for a release (what can last - if I think on the past - for significantly more than a month).

Of course... if someone here knows a way to install a flatpak "directly" and without to use flathub.org... please let me know.

Flatpak is working for me so far. My only gripe with Bitwig moving to Flatpak is this, from https://www.bitwig.com/support/technical_support/52/:

We recommend installing any VST plug-ins using Flatpak. VST plug-ins that cannot be installed via Flatpak should be installed in a folder that is reachable by Bitwig Studio, like your home directory. Be aware that anything installed in /usr/lib won’t be available to Bitwig Studio.

I have a handful of Linux VST3 plugins that are installed to /usr/lib/vst3 by default, and there is no way to tell an installer to choose another location. I guess for now on, I'll be forced to move and chown anything that gets installed to /usr/lib/vst3.

The Flatpak install is not painful. If you are on a Debian machine, and you follow the setup here https://flatpak.org/setup/Debian, once you are set, under root, all you do is:

from wherever the *.flatpak file is.

A bit of a pain in the a$$. Might as well just script it and setup an alias. What are the plugins giving you the issue?

MPE Glide doesn't register correctly; it doesn't pick up at all when gliding flat and only registers to one half-step when gliding sharp. I used Equator 2 and Cypher 2 to check and restarted from scratch (I'd used both Equator 2 and Cypher 2 in a previous project and originally found the issue there, so I started a new piece with just those two synths in it.)

Other than that, nothing else yet.

I've almost given up on ROLI based on all of the info released about the company this last year. I still have my Seaboard but haven't used it in a minute.

I'm assuming you're using a seaboard. Same issue with other synths or could this be a ROLI issue?

I agree. I have to say the same about Convolution, especially now that I've dipped back into Diego Stocco's "Rhythmic Convolutions 1 & 2" -- a total of 400 rhythmic Impulse Responses "specifically designed for the processing of beats, synths and instruments with a percussive timbre."

Convolution, is quite a bit brighter than for exampele MeldaProductions MConvolution with the same file, that brightness know must be messing with the signal in a bad way when it's at center.
