Well... how else do you do it?
If you miss on EQ5, you at least don't add another node...
edit: with EQ+ is it actually had e.g. some default frequency so if you clicked a very high frequency enable band 8, that would be an improvement I think. If I recall, it instead adds band 2...

Thanks for your advice! My music now sounds fuller.
Maybe I will stop using eqs...

Yeah EQ+ Introduces latency this is annoying
when using it to send it’s out put to a return track
Via Drum Machine Or via send track.
The result is phase difference due to the routing & delay difference even if I mute the out put of the channel the issue still exists due to the device internal latency.
This happens also with VST that introduces latency specially with spectral processing which could cause an obvious undesirable phase differences.
I try to use time shift but it’s useless because the latency is within the plugin itself not the routing.
I informed BW about this before couple of months. But sadly they didn’t fix it until know. I was expecting for this improvement with V4.
There is also a big dialog that popups in many of my projects that has plugins with latency, this occurs at the launch of the project.
The dialog Indicates a latency problem issue & I think it’s a popular issue that many users get it.
Although they included return feature in Drum Machine I usually don’t use it because of this issue.
I hope for the BWS auto latency detection feature takes place in near future that can do an auto compensation for any plugin that has a latency delay in it. instead of just analyzing the latency, then manually adjust it.
In addition The EQ+ needs to be improved in quality although they upgraded it’s upsampling on earlier version but it still not achieving accurate cut & boost, the bands curves really needs to cut the freqs more sharper & cleaner.

I have to admit that I was wrong trivialising this issue. It just bit me in the ass in a way I wasn't expecting, because I though one can avoid the problem simply putting EQ+ in both left/right or mid/side channel, which I was doing and it seemed to work OK.
But today I dug up some old(er) track which has EQ+ in both mid/side channels to roll off highs in the side channel & tighten up the mid channel, in particular by 48dB high-pass an octave below root of the bassline (so around 30-something Hz). To my surprise when I disabled that particular filter suddenly the hihats were much more pronounced in the panorama! And I was adjusting EQ+ in the mid channel!!!
I suspect that's exactly the problem with shift in phase / delay that was somehow cancelling the stereo effect that results from ofsetting mid/side.
Totally unexpected

I trust you sent the results to Bitwig.antic604 wrote: Sat Jul 10, 2021 1:22 pm I suspect that's exactly the problem with shift in phase / delay that was somehow cancelling the stereo effect that results from ofsetting mid/side.

It's fine that EQ+ is not a linear phase eq, but it should not have an un-corrected latency. The later must be a bug.

My guess is that the latency differs depending on what each EQ+ is doing. Do you see the same issue using EQ-2 or EQ-5? They don't seem to have the problem from my tests, though I know they don't have the 48dB high-pass. I have stopped using EQ+ completely.antic604 wrote: Sat Jul 10, 2021 1:22 pm I have to admit that I was wrong trivialising this issue. Worse, I couldn't replicate the same issue in empty project for bug reportvalankar wrote: Tue Jul 13, 2021 5:56 amMy guess is that the latency differs depending on what each EQ+ is doing. Somewhat related, at least to the phase shift discussion
F**k Tha Phase Police: Use Parallel EQ by Dan Worrall
In which I dispel a few myths about the scary, invisible EQ Phase Monster, and laugh at people who use linear phase EQ for drums.

That's why @billcarroll said "somewhat related". I'm sure we're all aware of that differencevalankar wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 6:56 amI think there is an assumption in the video that that any latency is compensated in the parallel chain, but with EQ+ it is not.
