Kind my usual electro+heavy guitars sound. Does the mix tilt a little bright?
Any other feedback welcomed!

Thanks for listening!
I kind of just realized that Matt Good might not mean much outside Canada. Matthew Good Band is one of the better 90s rock bands out of the country but Canadian bands don't often land in the US/EU/etc

I was lucky to get Much Music for awhile when I lived in Massachusetts and Matt Good was definitely my favorite find. I don't know this song, but you captured that vocal style he has, especially in the choruses. I think this is great.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

Cool song. Really good vocal performance. I think the mix is too bright. Maybe bump up the mids on the relevant elements in the mix and bring down the highs a bit with a smooth shelving filter.

Ya that's what I was thinking Genetic. I'll get to it at some point. Thanks!

I don't know the original. But what I hear here starts off like "urban EDM"
- nicely enriched with distorted guitars. It grooves very nicely, the vocals
are very powerful, but also heavily processed.
I particularly like the variety of rhythmic elements - you can listen to
the song more often. Very nicely done!
You're cheekily posting a cover version of ... in public (public forum).
I think that's good - but also really courageous. Hence my question:
Have you obtained permission to publish from the copyright holders?
What agreement did you make there? Or do you just post the cover
version like this - at a venture?

Hey thanks for the encouragement, enroe.
I can only speak for myself but I'm not bothered in the slightest to post covers. I think as far as internet copyright transgressions go, it's pretty low on the scale. There might literally be a million covers of Hallelujah on youtube.
I also post cover songs on youtube once in a while.. and it's interesting that sometimes they get flagged even if they're SUPER removed from the original. And some more faithful covers don't get flagged. The almighty algorithm.
(and even if it does get flagged, they don't take the cover down. I think it just directs ad revenue to the copyright holder)

I like it
Intro slightly too long, but liked the vocals and vibe.
