I get a consistent/reproducible crash when I use Diva's preset browser to copy presets from "Favorite 1" to a new empty folder. It seems to crash because a preset with the same name (but inside a different parent folder) appears twice inside "Favorite 1".

My "Favorite 1" group/"folder" looks something like this:

Code: Select all

A first preset
The second preset
The third preset
Uh oh preset
Uh oh preset
Very nice sound
…
One "Uh oh preset.h2p" is inside Presets/u-he/Diva/FolderA, and the other "Uh oh preset.h2p" is inside Presets/u-he/Diva/FolderB.

I use right-click › Select All, and then when I ⌥-Drag all the Favorite 1 presets to an empty folder in the left pane, it crashes. It copies the files up to (and including) the first "Uh oh preset.h2p" before it crashes.

I can probably work around this by removing the duplicate files by hand, but it would be nice if it didn't crash in this case 🙂

I'm using Diva 1.4.5 VST3 in Ableton Live 11.1 ARM on a MacBook Pro M1 2021, Mac OS 12.2.1. I also want to take the opportunity to say that I'm still absolutely in love with the sound of this synth  A huge thanks to u-he for this!

Thanks for reporting this. :tu:
The issue is actually already fixed internally for a while.
It doesn't crash anymore, and correctly enumerates the duplicate file.

However, I just noticed that there still is an issue when moving instead of copying the files.
In this case, it doesn't enumerate the duplicate, and displays two identically named presets in the browser.
We'll fix that asap.

As an alternative to your method, you could also convert the favourites smart folder to a real folder.
Simply drag the favourites folder and drop it into the User presets area.
This creates a new folder and copies all the presets in it, correctly enumerating any duplicates.

That's great to hear, thanks!

Thanks so much, that works and I didn't know you could do that 👍 It creates two files even if the preset has identical content, but that's okay and easily fixable with any free duplicate file remover tool.
