SynthMaster & SynthMaster Player v2.9.16 update: New skin + bug fixes

Sorry for the delay, we are working on multiple things so it's gonna take around 2-3 more weeks to release them.

I should also mention the fact that although we invested at least 3 months into this NKS integration, I am now questioning the return on this investment, I hope it wasn't a waste of time (that would have gone to new development)

Not a waste of time! I consider them quite useful!

For example being able to filter presets by tag or text such as "Nori", then clicking on each to hear a snippet of the sound without having to load the preset is very handy.

In the meantime, we have Unify by PluginGuru, which is picking up some of the NKS slack in its own way. Would you folks have any objections to having SynthMaster and SynthMaster One Unified??

That's a great idea! I am also a Unify user.

FYI, for those not familiar with the concept, a 3rd party synth can have it's presets mapped to the Unify browser and workflow (Unified), for quickly loading an instrument preset layer in Unify. Unify can host as many instruments and layers per Unify instance as your computer can handle. And each layer gets assigned to a separate CPU core for efficiency!

That's unlike Komplete Kontrol, that can only handle one instrument per instance.

But you must own the underlying 3rd party synth for any "Unified" banks to work, so there are not really any copyright issues involved. In any case, the policy of PluginGuru (John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl) is to only "Unify" factory banks that come with the underlying synth, and leave the 3rd party and for sale banks up to the individual users to create for their own use. Before releasing any "Unified" banks on his site, he likes to first get permission from the synth developer.

Ok, it's now been a few weeks. The third-party NKS banks still do not seem to be available for SynthMaster. Is something wrong with my system regarding your instructions or are they still not available yet?

Guys, please check for updates inside SynthMaster, we just uploaded v2.9.14. With this update, all expansions now have their NKS content:

1. NEW: Added "Download NKS content for expansions" menu
2. FIX: SynthMaster FX doesn't work on Windows
3. FIX: Module menu icon controls are diplayed at the incorrect location
4. FIX: Textbox control doesn't update value when return/enter key is pressed

We are proud to announce the latest v2.9.12 update for our SynthMaster 2 and SynthMaster Player software synthesizers. This update brings 2 major new features:

1. Compatibility with Native Instruments' Native Kontrol Standard (NKS). NKS allows SynthMaster 2 and SynthMaster Player to be seamlessly integrated with Native Instruments' Maschine and Komplete Kontrol hardware and software.

2. Compatibility with VST3 format: VST3 has been a longstanding feature request from SynthMaster users, and KV331 Audio finally managed to deliver it. SynthMaster 2 and SynthMaster Player can now run in VST3 format as well, on Windows (64 bit Intel) and MacOS (64 bit Intel or Apple Silicon) platforms. For SynthMaster One users, an update is on the way as well in the coming weeks.

Aside from those 2 major features, there are critical bug fixes/improvements in this release as well:

1. NEW: Added Auto Assign/Remove easy parameters feature
2. NEW: Modulation matrix entries can now grow as necessary (previous limit was 64 entries)
3. NEW: When a preset is loaded via MIDI Program Change, preset browser filter is now updated
4. NEW: Preset banks are now stored under Public Documents folder instead of user's Documents folder
5. NEW: Free version of SynthMaster Player now comes with 600 factory presets, and can be downloaded at: https://www.synthmaster.com/synthmasterplayer.aspx
6. NEW: Demo version of SynthMaster 2 now comes with 1200 factory presets, and can be downloaded at: https://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx
7. FIX: SynthMaster Player doesn't load FX Bypass parameters correctly
8. FIX: SynthMaster might stop responding to MIDI CC messages when it receives multiple CC messages
9. FIX: SynthMaster has inconsistencies displaying parameter values
10. FIX: Mono trigger doesn't work correctly for the very first note
11. FIX: 24 db/Oct digital HP/BP/BS filters don't work correctly

Registers SynthMaster/SynthMaster Player users can simply dowload the latest update by checking for updates inside the plugin window(s).

When are you going to fix the longstanding artificial limit of Midi inputs in the standalone version? It makes the standalone worthless, it has been reported several times, and now your support is simply ignoring emails about it.

It was also moved in SM One, but the options still remain in the SM One browser as well. Not so with SynthMaster 2. Not a very intuitive place to relocate it to, IMO...

I actually think it makes more sense there than trying to remember if it was in browse or shop to find it.

Most users are accustomed to (especially on iOS) to click on the preset name on the top header to perform preset related tasks. So we moved those menus to restore expansions or NKS content. They still exist on the browser context menu as well (in all our products)
