I just have to agree with you Mod. I have mainly used Cubase until Tracktion, and I won't go back. They can add a million features, but it doesn't make them better.
Stability is king. No other host I know of is as stable. I rarely have any problems whatsoever.
Features, well, you get plenty. Everything you need can pretty much be done. The workflow is the best, period. And features like adding effects, racks, etc. to individual clips in a track make Tracktion very high end to me. And even recently, I found out that I could Shift-select whatever volume sliders I wanted, then raise and lower them all at the same time, the same amount! I don't believe you can do this stuff anywhere else.
I eagerly awiat T2, but will be VERY content with version 1. Jules, thanks for the program.

ooooo.... thats it, in acid you don't have to hold down shift while you sliding, just to select... thanx for the tipAD80 wrote:Hell yeah it works! I don't believe you can do this stuff anywhere else.. You have to hold down shift as you lower the volume or it will deselect the others. You can also right click on a volume filter and "select all filters of the same type" if you need to select all of them. Its fast.

I also tried a few demos recently (Live, Sonar and Podium) and found out that I preferred Tracktion's midi editing to theirs
Especially for syncing midi notes to audio clips played rubato
All I really miss would be for right-click to delete notes when in draw mode (although I realize that T is dual-platform and many stylish but useless Lucite Mac mice barely have even one button
-- but the Mac users could ctrl-click or cmd-click or however that goes for the same effect -- or get themselves a proper mouse with some buttons and a scroll wheel :heresy:

Er... is there a way to select a few notes together, say a chord, and lengthen or shorten them together with one drag? If I select a chord in the MIDI editor, they are all marked red... so far so good. But when I want to lengthen the notes with the pencil tool, it only lenghtens the one note I'm clicking on, not all that are marked... why?

kind of...
there's a reason why midi editing is the weakest part of Tracktion and audio recording and manipulation is much stronger.
