Arturia V collection automation from visual controls instead of midi input with Waveform 11

Am I just doing this wrong, or does for example recording in a Korg MS-20 V track with my left hand twiddling notes and my right hand dragging knobs with the mouse not create an automation track?

I guess that depends - the MIDI monitor (place it on front of the VST) will record MIDI data coming in to the VST; but if it's not MIDI cc data, you'd then have to "create the automation link" to have an automation track.

Interesting that Ableton can do it, and that for Ableton I DON'T have to manually create an automation track per variable.
