HTTPS not set up yet for that domain, it seems?
Yeah, sorry... we're changing our server to unlimited number of certificates soon, and we'll eventually transfer the domain to the foundation whatsoever that we yet have to set up.

All good! I just wanted to update the link for CLAP on Surge's About page with the link you've posted, but then I saw all other links we have on that page are HTTPS, so it felt a bit "dirty" to add a HTTP link. Hehe! We can do that once your domain transfer is complete, then, no rush.

Great news on the CLAP progress! I don't expect everyone to play along, but I really hope this format is widely adopted in the industry. Looking forward to what the future brings.

It does redirect to a https:// link though...

Right, but the link itself is not https, and once the CLAP domain gets the cert we'd have to update the link yet once again. I guess not a huge deal really. Just being a nitpicky bastard about it, eheheh :)

Hi, I am now very hyped by the clap format and its capability to use Bitwigs per-voice-modulators with it... Is there a chance to get an early beta version of Hive to test this? Or might everything in the CLAP support still change?

Post

There will not be very early beta versions. There'll be pretty mature ones in about two weeks, if plans work out.

There are already test builds of Reaper with CLAP support.

Reaper guys have been quiet after their initial CLAP proof of concept, but they have left a list of ideas/suggestions which Alexandre has worked through. My impression is that they want to wait for it to be 1.0 (final binary interface) before they continue to evaluate CLAP, and I hope that then they will commit to it.

Yeah i hope so, 'cause It seems to me that CLAP has 2 great advantages from the user perspective.
1. A fresh idea of the whole multinote parameters thing ( and MIDI 2 ready code)
2. It "solves" many VST3 flaws...

Ok, I'm just going to say this. Since my Apple Silicon audio software tracking site has been so successful, I intend to roll out a new version of it to track CLAP software (across all platforms). It will eventually be at clapdb.tech.

I look forward to anxious users pestering developers with comments and threads like "lazy developers, no CLAP support yet!" jk

...but you just know it's coming.
