FR: Hotkey to sustain virtual keyboard

When developing plugins I constantly need a... well... constant midi signal going to a plugin to make it produce sound or simply activate it while I tweak things.
Also, when loading up new plugins for the first time I do the same thing, so it's not just helpful for developers.

Try note event pad module in latch mode.

Tip: Use a little beermat or other piece of rigid cardboard to put it over the key that must be kept down and under the two keys aside to it. Used that trick many times during r&d. Hope this helps.

You could also try making a module that remaps all the midi keys to latch instead of momentary with note event pad and then drop it after an event input.

You peeps are mocking this FR, clearly you don't realize the utility of this simple feature. This feature btw will be in every product I make. A fully functional keyboard is a very nice-to-have. I am a mouse composer, I will not be changing any time soon. I get by just fine with that.
OH AND BTW, there's no way to control velocity with a virtual keyboard in MuLab! You can't treat the virtual keyboard like an afterthought, it needs to be fully functional. OK, going to make a new thread.

Nobody is mocking your request. I can come up with a MUX that will let notes to be played in latch mode (press to play a sound, another press to release it). The lack of velocity control is known already.

Oh come on, there is definitely mockery here. Now luckily I can laugh about it, I don't care that it's mocked, because I know from experience this is worth implementing.
Anyway, I don't know how to use MUX that well, if you could post that patch I would appreciate it!

No mockery here. Avicii was a mouse composer too and had some great hits. I tried note-painting some time ago and didn't suceeded. It also depend on the context of work - making velocity sensitive patches for keyboard players without testing them on a good quality keyboard can be very difficult.

There you have it, made it for 1 octave starting from C4, if you want it to be full scale then have a look at the routing and repeat it for the whole thing. Drop it into a rack before your instrument.
