I can't find documentation for this anywhere. I think it must be a new feature so I thought I would share.
You can add names to your articulation key switches and the names with show up in the Piano Roll MIDI Editor and the In-Line Editor and this makes adding articulations and sound variations very intuitive... just enter the relevant labelled midi note. (Works very similar to drum names).
The example screen shot (attached) shows the articulations for Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra Lead Cello in Tracktion Waveform. The first articulation (Legato) starts at midi note 0 (which is C-2 in my system but is C-1 in some others depending where you have set middle C).
Setting up the names is simply a matter of editing a text file in the 'MIDI Note Names Maps' folder and adding the 'MIDI Notes Name' waveform utility plugin as shown in the screen shot.
The only issue you need to be careful with is that if you transpose your music you will also shift your articulations to the wrong place on the piano roll, so you will need to make sure they are not selected.
Hope this is useful,
DP

I use this feature with Real guitars. As a tip, consider creating a text file for your preferred Real settings... load up RealStrat on a track, get your settings where you want them...then save both the MIDI Note Names plugin *and* RealStrat as a single preset.
Then you can drag the preset onto any track, have RealStrat load with your preferred settings and the right MIDI Note Names plugin alongside it in one move.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

All we need now is a way of quarantining articulation key switches from transposing, but (like automation) they can be locked to notes when moved in time.
