Took a 9 month break from mixing and I just bought the latest Music production Suite from iZotope, and the new Antares Auto Tune Suite! And even with the new GUIs and features.....I couldn't vibe with the workflow.

I loaded up MDynamics and MturboEQ, and I was instantly enjoying mixing again.

Can't praise the GUI enough. Am I the only only who likes Clinical , analytic information when mixing or mastering or making art?

Knobs and sliders just calm me down
🤦😂👏😁🤔🙄

Yep, for mixing and mastering the GUI is perfect, analytical and not much of an eye candy, making me focus on the job rather than visuals. However on the creative side it isn't too inspiring, but that issue is being improved with the custom GUI for devices. Best of both worlds really.

I thought you where a die hard fan of melda… why did you go with iZotope?

I am curious as to what made the workflows not vibe? I have considered purchasing iZotope MSP many times, but everytime I come to my own personal conclusion, that MSP just doesnt offer me enough “extra” for the crossgrade price (I own vocalsynth and thinks its great) now that i already have mTotalBundle. (I am not a professional Sound engineer, only hobbyist who is only mixing my own band)

Btw I am realy fond of the spectral editing in iZotope Iris. Wish melda would Implement spectral editing both in fx and in msoundfactory ;)

...fwiw...spectral editing with ARA2 would be a dream come true for me...currently I work with the spectral editing in Reaper, and that's just fine, but a full Melda implementation would be way better.../s~

After spending far too much money on plugins I do recommend:

1) Use your DAW stock plugins. They are great.
2) Use Melda plugin bundle(s) for everything else. You will need a lifetime to use every feature of them.
3) Not buy new plugins for a few years. Do not read magazines, websites or anything about plugins. Make music with what you have. Every few years check the best plugin of "2022,2025,..." videos. If you find anything you really need buy it. All plugins that are only hype will not make it into the "best of" lists.

For me it’s all about the workflow and here melda is not the best in every plugin.
For example ducking with mrhytmizer, drawing the curve takes much longer than just using kickstart2. I know mrhytmizer can do much more, but not that fast and easy. Small thing, but takes creativity. Also no visual show of the preset curves in comparison of these two.
I like my meldas, but get away from the idea to use this exclusively.
