Installer requires Rosetta... so I extracted and installed manually and Icarus is working fine on my M1-Pro MBP.
Can you please tell me more details? Were you unable to run it? What OS version?

VST and AU are an universal binary that support M1 native as well as Intel.

The installer was built on MacOS 10.14 to make sure you can still run it on old Macs, as Apple has seriously messed up code-signing certificates for these machines (planed obsolescense?)
Yeah, I understand why the Installer needs Rosetta, so it can also install on older machines.

I am currently on 12.3.1. I do not have Rosetta installed. So I installed Icarus manually to avoid having to install Rosetta... and the plugin itself works fine natively in Bitwig. From my point of view there is no issue.

You can use the mousewheel for this
I've tried with my trackpad but it's not possible to go just one over, and within a few seconds it gets to None and then doesn't work anymore.
Trackpad works fine for me on my MBP (M1 native)

Apple always eventually stops providing updates for old machines. This is nothing new. That said Monterey works on 9 year old Mac Pros (same as 10.14) and 7 year old MacBook Pros.

Thanks for your feedback. I think I found a way that also the installer runs under M1 native. The fix will be included in the release version.

How did you uninstall Rosetta? On the web I've only found ugly hacks to do this.

I never installed Rosetta in the first place. I've been careful about it because it did seem hard to uninstall.

Glad you found a way to have a native installer!

Maybe i did something wrong, but I never had to install Rosetta as i think it's been part of Monterey from the get go when i got my Macbook in December?

Generally you have to install it... it asks and then is automatic. You likely said yes once and never thought about it.

That might be true, but also strange, as i'm usually very careful what to install. And this should have happened on now two of my systems, as i've gotten my second Mac in the end of March.
My first non native app i installed has been The Drop a month ago as i've been holding on for a miracle to happen, but of course some installers, like those of Valhalla always required Rosetta… i just think i've never seen a pop up that asked me to install Rosetta on any of my two machines

I've been asked about 20 times... cause I always say no :hihi:

I've only installed native apps/plugins but frequently the installer itself needs Rosetta. That is why I have been asked a lot. I then install manually to avoid Rosetta.

Once installed the first time, it is invisible after that.

Hi Markus
Have you considered selling plugs on CD in a box with the artwork of the plug in question? It would be nice to put such a box on a shelf. :) Willing to such an edition would be found.

Best Service did(?)/do distribute boxed versions of our synthesizers:

Not sure about the content of this box. I think it is just a CD and some paper sheet with installation instructions.

You can also order a 'backup Media CD' when you do your oders in our webshop:
https://www.tone2.com/shop.html

If there is demand I can create some printable CD booklets.

Hello, will Icarus 2.5 VST3 version include the next/previous preset functions for the arrow keys? I still use the VST2 version of Icarus because the feature didn't work with the VST3 version.
