I did see that video just while looking for demo of this playing sequences. It seemed he didn't try very hard at making a sequence and played a sequence at a much slower tempo than on his SH101. Well, he was wrong about several things. Also about those peaks on the waveforms, which aren't audible, and only there because of the way the waveforms are being generated digitally.
This is one of the best soft synths I've heard - it's amazing! I'm a bit fan of simple synths and the 101 anyway, but this really was much better than expected. It does nice slides and can really bounce and burble along. And with the right distortion - Just fantastic. It's clear why this synth is a classic.
I just had a two bar loop running for the past hour played around with this and did a distortion shoot out. So good.
I tried to get TAL to match, but it couldn't get there. I have used the TAL, but it never quite got there for me soundwise. TAL does have a fantastic sequencer in the GUI though. Something this one does not.
