Well, he was wrong about several things. Also about those peaks on the waveforms, which aren't audible, and only there because of the way the waveforms are being generated digitally.
I did see that video just while looking for demo of this playing sequences. It seemed he didn't try very hard at making a sequence and played a sequence at a much slower tempo than on his SH101. But mostly he clearly didn't listen to this.

This is one of the best soft synths I've heard - it's amazing! I'm a bit fan of simple synths and the 101 anyway, but this really was much better than expected. It does nice slides and can really bounce and burble along. And with the right distortion - Just fantastic. It's clear why this synth is a classic.

I just had a two bar loop running for the past hour played around with this and did a distortion shoot out. So good.

I tried to get TAL to match, but it couldn't get there. I have used the TAL, but it never quite got there for me soundwise. TAL does have a fantastic sequencer in the GUI though. Something this one does not.

Yeah I think so too.. for sound I do prefer this, for features I prefer Tal's Basslines.
Fortunately I have both so don't have to choose :).

I'm actually totally blown away by this synth. I was testing it with a reverb, delays and tried pretty much every distortion I had on it. But what shines through is the 101 character, the bubbly burbling along. And some distortions really take this up into the classic sounds.

It's not perfect. The built in distortion is pretty weak in my opinion. And not having a visual editable sequencer is a bit poor in 2022.

This synth also shows just how important hands on controls can be. You do need to find the balance between e.g. filter, filter envelope etc. This is a bit of a pain with one control at time with a mouse, where you're looking to make tiny incremental changes on a few different controls.

This might push me to finally upgrade to a better controller keyboard.

Google says this: https://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Fad ... Fl.gZyjI8h and this: https://www.session.de/produkt/djtechto ... ter-black/

I don't think I'd pay almost 300 € for each of those though... WAY overpriced.

Shame that Behringer doesn't produce the BCR2000 anymore.

the BCR 2000 can.... do relative, and NRPN, and.. and.. and.. is built like a tank....
never will sell it, well i use it still, next a load of controllers.

there will be a new 'bcr 2000', i don't remember the type number anymore..., it was announced, but it isn't there yet.

i think they are also overpriced. and a BCR 2000 is second hand, not really a lot of money.

there hare behringer haters, well, you show it!

i don't hate or love behringer, i only go for what is offered.

I just took a look on Ebay Classifieds. The used prices for the BCR2000 vary between 100 and 300 (!) €. Are people fuckin' nuts these days?

I'd maybe pay 80 €. Maybe. With teeth grinding. Seriously, f**k these frauds.

yeah, im curious about that too.

Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

It came for me in an email from them.
But by the time the email came I had already seen it here.

(this is the email which I clicked on view in browser so I could display it all on one page to screenshot)

I suspect it only went to people who owned other model series synths.

Soo... new synth plugin launched, and the KVR thread on it essentially contains no negative comments, no "sounds nothing like" or "the difference is night and day" emulation complaints, no aliasing or oversampling complaints, and not a single comment bitching about the price, *or* the copy protection?

*Looks upwards to check for flying pigs...* (None on my ceiling, hang on, checks out the window... still nothing....)

Strange days, indeed... :D
